I am seeing the toll that this economy and the way this country is going on the people around me.

You drive down the street and you see store fronts empty one after another.

People are worried. I talk to people that have been dipping into their retirement funds to live way before their retirement years and living on credit cards just to hang on for a better time.

I talk to people that are worried about their jobs and living day to day in fear of being among the unemployed. I met a young man that used to be a buyer for a department store but he went back to school to get his degree. He got his degree 2 years ago and waiting tables is all he can find right now, and is lucky to have a job.

I wonder how many independent contractors such as real estate agents and small home based business people are even counted among the “unemployed”.

There are  alot of people that used to be among the productive that are not able to make their mortgage payments and/or are  on the brink of losing their homes ….. late fees accumulating and interest on credit cards adding up.

It  seems ironic as you see our First Lady vacationing in Spain and our first family on another vacation ……. lavish parties with big entertainers at the White House …. all at our expense. Our Senators & Representatives on another “well deserved vacation” (Maybe that’s a good thing) …. while families worry about school fees and back to school clothes and older people worry about making ends meet.

I have read that 50% of the people pay all of the taxes. I wonder how much that number will drop next year.

We talk about a change that has to be made, but to what? Will it be more of the same or will people really get out and vote these people out of office. When will we get smart and look past the big ads on TV, radio and newspaper and find out who these people really are and what they really stand for and make them commit to the people they represent.

I find it sad that when people run for office they want to represent you and I ….. then when they get to Washington they bcome a voter down party lines  interested in their on behalf at our expense.

I really hope that people have had enough ….. and will vote all these people out. At least a change can’t be any worse then no change at all. (In my humble opinion)
