Gingrich: Obama’s welfare reform rewrite ‘almost certainly illegal’

Newt Gingrich, who negotiated a welfare reform bill with President Bill Clinton when he was Speaker of the House, described President Obama’s new rule undermining that law as “almost certainly illegal.”
“Obama’s suspension of workfare requirements is almost certainly illegal, a sign of the jobs failure, and a reminder how liberal [O]bama is,” Gingrich tweeted this morning following a report from the Heritage Foundation that the Health and Human Services Department had “released an official policy directive rewriting the welfare reform law of 1996.”
Gingrich added that “President [C]linton and the [R]epublican [C]ongress created a bipartisan work oriented reform of welfare,” in a second tweet. “Obama has single handedly destroyed it,” Gingrich said.
Obama’s new rule “allows the Department of Health and Human Services to waive the work requirement at the heart of welfare reform,” as The Washington Examiner’s Byron York explains. “That reform, originally vetoed but later signed into law by President Bill Clinton, is widely viewed as the most successful policy initiative in a generation. Under it, the growth in welfare rolls was reversed and millions of people moved from welfare to work.”
Romney attacked Obama over the policy change. “The president’s action is completely misdirected,” the Republican presidential candidate said in a statement to York. “Work is a dignified endeavor, and the linkage of work and welfare is essential to prevent welfare from becoming a way of life.”
The new welfare policy follows reports that the United States Department of Agriculture is trying to expand food stamp enrollment regardless of financial need in order to fight obesity. “USDA’s activities suggest that the program administrators take personal offense when people who technically qualify for their largesse decline to accept—and see it as an obstacle to overcome,” Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., said yesterday.

the government get rid of the flouride in the water!this is a carcinogen to which flouride cancels out naturally occuring iodide in the human body!the body uses iodine in the thyroid which uses iodine to convert t4 into t3!…when u put added crap in products and it gets digested over and over again!…what the heck do u think is going to happen?!the organs start messing up such as the thyroid!the thyroid helps with metabolism which in turn works with the pancreas which causes a form of metbolic disorder!u dont even have to drink it!u can be exposed to the fluoride cause its added to toothpaste and this fluoride is actually pretty much useless to the adult because they have finished growing and its a great possibility it is a contributing factor of autism and adhd in children…the government needs to step back and remove this added crap to our drinking water…this stuff is even absorbed thru the skin!…
obama is wanting to be rid of welfare to work requirement so the more on the dole better his chances..the expansion of foodstamps IS NOT,i repeat IS NOT going to curb the obesity in our country..they get rid of added fluoride in our drinking water,set up where food stamps will only purchase low glycemic foods and put gym class in the school week at least 2x if not 3x a week! get the custodians of these children to be a responcible parent where they get these lower glycemic nutricous meals.send out the chs from the county welfare office if the child has a high bmi index and fine the parent.i worked as a cashier and i know the high % of mostly moms who would buy,cookies,cakes,pies,frozen food,soda,juices in excess and very few freah vegetables and fresh fruit…i stated earlier,get rid of the fluoride in water,toothpaste and all other areas this carcinogen happens to be found…the child needs fluoride…make it where the parents can get fluoride that isnt the bad form which causes havoc to the human body years later on down the road to which can lead to metobolic disorder,thyroid cancer,diabetes..etc….as far as the work requirement…obama wants to be re=elected and there are a majority of persons who,with all this crap going on,would love to get a check evey month for doing nothing…BUT,is it worth the risk of their freedom just to get a piddly bit of food stamps and really cheap health care?…the way its going …there will be few workers at all anywhere in the us here…people will be getting fat because nobody will have a routine due to there is no where to go,gas is going to get even higher,couldnt afford to go to work cause of the price of fuel.soo..the dilemma is…if MOST everyone gets laid off,nobody is producing anything…who is going to end surviving?…and what is going to happen when somebody snaps?…if there is only just a little food cause most places closed down because of the welfare to work requirement had been struck down…the gas to get back and forth to work is 6-7-8/gal,WHO is going to produce any kind of anything and all the while…obama is at 1600 pennsylvania ave in washington d.c living it up,with 3 square meals a day and medical provisions as well as all other ammenities available to him and his family and the rest of congress there?….
