THE DINK IS AT IT AGAIN – Biden Claimed Coal Power Is More Dangerous Than Terrorism
Video shows Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) claiming that coal power and corn syrup are more deadly than terrorism.
The remarks will likely prove a headache for an administration that is trying to distance itself from its anti-coal image.
As Scribe reported on Friday, the Obama campaign adjusted its website to promote its work with “clean coal” in the wake of an embarrassing showing in the Democratic primary in coal-intensive West Virginia. Obama lost 41% of the vote there to federal prison inmate – a fact the state’s Democratic Party chairman attributed directly to the administration’s stance on coal power.
Senate Poised to Give UN Control of Everything Re the Oceans by Ratifying LOST
[This article was first posted on JBS.org on January 28, 2009, and is reposted here due to the likelihood that the Senate will vote on ratifying the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) as early as this June of 2012. See brand-new video at bottom of this article from May 7 or 8, 2012, where Dick Morris tells Sean Hannity about the dangers of LOST and says a ratification vote was only delayed from this month to June because its main promoter, Dick Lugar, had a primary election on May 8. Lugar lost anyway.]
The United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea … is perhaps one of the most significant but less recognized 20th century accomplishments in the arena of international law…. Its scope is vast: it covers all ocean space, with all its uses, including navigation and overflight; all uses of all its resources, living and non-living, on the high seas, on the ocean floor and beneath, on the continental shelf and in the territorial seas; the protection of the marine environment; and basic law and order…. The Convention is widely recognised by the international community as the legal framework within which all activities in the oceans and the seas must be carried out. (“25th Anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea,” Oct. 17, 2007; emphasis added.)
If you wonder why some of us have been so vigorously opposing ratification of the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) since it was negotiated at a series of UN conferences between 1973 and 1982, read the above quote very slowly and with comprehension. This statement from the 25th anniversary celebration of the completion of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), also known more simply as the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST), says LOST’s “scope is vast: it covers all ocean space, with all its uses, including navigation and overflight; all uses of its resources, living and non-living, on the high seas, on the ocean floor and beneath, on the continental shelf and in the territorial seas…. The Convention is widely recognized by the international community as the legal framework within which all activities in the oceans and the seas must be carried out.”
If you read the quote carefully, you’ll see that the UN Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea which administers LOST would have authority over everything, everything, over, on, and under the oceans and seas of the world. Ratification of LOST would be a very large step toward world government. And, remember under the UN division that administers LOST, our nation wouldn’t have veto power like we do in the UN Security Council. We’d have just one vote among 150 or more votes. Just as the League of Nations ultimately fell apart without the United States, let’s stay out of the UN’s LOST regime, thus denying its legitimacy.
And, just in case someone has told you that the agency set up to administer LOST is not really part of the UN, here’s its logo (see graphic at top of article). Can you detect the UN’s logo anywhere? Here’s its URL: http://un.org/Depts/los/index.htm. Do you see any portion of the UN’s official URL, http://un.org, anywhere?
If you’re still not convinced that the implementation and administration of the LOST Convention is part of the United Nations, consider this statement from the Sixty-second United Nations General Assembly Plenary meeting, December 21, 2007:
The Assembly had before it a 22-part resolution on oceans and the Convention on the Law of the Sea … by which it would call on States to harmonize, as a matter of priority, national legislation with the provisions of the Convention and, where applicable, relevant agreements and provisions…. The Assembly then adopted the resolution by a recorded vote of 146 in favour to 2 against….
As this UN General Assembly document from December 21, 2007, shows, the General Assembly adopted a resolution by a vote of 146 to 2 calling on all member-nations of the UN to harmonize, as a matter of priority, the legislation of their nations with the LOST Convention.
In 1956 the United Nations held its first Conference on the Law of the Sea. The second UN Conference on the Law Sea was held in 1960, but did not produce any agreements. However, the third such conference, which lasted from 1973 to 1982, did produce what we now know as the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), or more simply, the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST).
In 1982 President Reagan refused to sign the treaty due to disagreements with provisions in Part XI of LOST pertaining to the establishment of an International Seabed Authority (ISA) to authorize seabed exploration and mining and collect and distribute the seabed mining royalties. However, by 1994 UNCLOS went into force when the 60th nation ratified the treaty. To date at least 157 nations and the European Union have joined in the Convention. Nonetheless, the United States Senate has still not ratified LOST, even though both presidents Clinton and Bush strongly advocated ratification.
However, this year it is virtually certain that a vote on ratification of LOST will be held in the Senate. President Obama, Secretary of State Clinton, and Chairman of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, John Kerry, all agree that LOST should be ratified. Not only that, but ratification of LOST is being elevated into a kind of centerpiece for the new Obama administration’s foreign policy initiative of closer cooperation with other nations. This is very clear from Hillary Clinton’s testimony at her confirmation hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on January 13. When Senator Murkowski asked Clinton, “Will ratification of the Law of the Sea Treaty be a priority for you?” Clinton answered: “Yes, it will be, and it will be because it is long overdue, Senator.”
Click here to view a video of the most pertinant portion of Clinton’s testimony.
At the same confirmation hearing for Clinton, Senator John Kerry, Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee also went on record as strongly in favor of ratification of LOST. Kerry stated:
Let me just say to you and to others interested that we are already — I have talked to Senator Lugar about this, and I’ve talked to Senator Clinton about it. We will be — we are now laying the groundwork for and expect to try to take up the Law of the Sea Treaty. So that will be one of the priorities of — of the committee, and the key here is just timing, how we proceed. (“Senate Confirmation Hearing: Hillary Clinton,” nytimes.com, January 13, 2009)
Given the powerful forces that will be arrayed in favor of ratification, it will take an extraordinarily powerful outcry from the grassroots to defeat LOST in the Senate. While it does take two-thirds (67) of the Senators to ratify a treaty, it will be a very tough fight to produce the 34 senators we’ll need to stop LOST.
[UPDATE, May 10, 2012: Remember this article was written in 2009. The Senate is expected to vote on ratification of the LOST Treaty as early as June 2012.] It’s hard to judge just when a ratification vote might be held. There will be one or more hearings by one or more Senate committees first. You can count on these hearings leading to a recommendation for a ratification vote by the full Senate. Then, we’ll have the actual ratification vote.
We have to begin building grassroots opposition to ratification of LOST now. If you’re interested in helping to do this, I recommend you begin networking with like-minded Americans now.
Take action now by clicking here to contact your senators in opposition to ratification of LOST. [This "Take Action" link has been updated to use now in 2012.]
It’s up to ordinary grassroots Americans like you and me to create enough understanding soon enough to defeat LOST, which would put sand in the gears of the UN world government movement and preserve our national independence.
FOX PIVEN’S CHILLING FUTURE PREDICTIONS: CALLS FOR MASSIVE UNION STRIKES TO ‘FORCE GOVERNMENT TO RESTORE TAXATION ON THE RICH
According to Frances Fox Piven’s predictions last September:

Professor Piven Predictions: Half true…for now.
The government would begin to “force” higher taxation on the rich
The government will “force” strict regulation on finance
Workers will unite to make “New Deal” style “strikes.”
The strikes should be “massive” and involve millions of non-Union workers.
Unions should lead these strikes, because they have overcome “racism & sexism.”
In a first-time address to the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Union, radical professor Frances Fox Piven made some startling, yet predictable calls for unions to engage in social unrest. In light of the George Soros Occupy movement and legislation such as the Buffett Rule, this might seem to be old news. However, the speech was given last September, before any of these radical social ideas collided with the mainstream. What’s left is an apt prediction for things that did happen (demonetization of the rich, violent class warfare) and a dark foreshadowing of what the future may hold (crippling strikes, a workers revolution).
The controversial NYU professor began by pinning down Voter ID laws as discriminatory.
“Thirty state legislators – legislatures – the states that were lost in the election of 2010 are now considering legislation to make it harder to vote for poorer people, for younger people, for minority people. They want to require photo ID cards for registration, voter registration, for actually casting the vote.”

The Occupy enthusiast continued by demanding that unions begin to “force” governments into an arch-progressive agenda.
“Poverty is really expanding very, very rapidly and unions, union membership, and treasuries continue to decline. So the question that confronts us, everyone in this room – me too, I’m a union member – is how to halt and reverse this assault. How to force government to become a job creating engine, how to force government to restore taxation on the rich – they should pay their share – how to force government to invest in infrastructure, how force government to re-regulate finance, and how to restore the slices that have been taken from the social programs.”
Rural Electric Customers Pay Steep Price for Wind Power Mandate
“Paying for wind we don’t need, can’t use and can’t sell”
Taxpayers already pay a high price to subsidize wind energy through billions in federal grants, loan guarantees and tax credits that prop up the “windustry”. We now know the return on investment since 2009 is 10,000 lost wind industry jobs, according to the American Wind Energy Association.
But the losses only begin there. Now the bill for state renewable energy mandates is coming due with hundreds of thousands of Minnesota electric co-op and utility customers picking up the tab. Going green cost rural electric ratepayers in Minnesota, the fifth biggest wind power producer among the states, more than $70 million last year, according to the Minnesota Rural Electric Association (MREA). The MREA represents about fifty mostly small, rural electric co-ops and utilities which serve more than 625,000 Minnesota homes and businesses.
“It’s an enormous subsidy. You have to add wind power, whether you need it or not,” said Mark Glaess, MREA executive director. “Right now we’re paying for wind we don’t need, we can’t use and can’t sell.”
OBAMA’S EPA WRECKS THE COAL INDUSTRY -Mine Union Boss: Coal Industry Could Suffer Same Fate as Bin Laden
It is projected that 1.8 Million People will loose their jobs.
The coal industry will suffer the same fate as Osama bin Laden under new climate regulations proposed by the Environmental Protection Agency, the head of the United Mine Workers of America said this week.
“The Navy SEALs shot Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan and Lisa Jackson shot us in Washington,” Cecil Roberts, president of the powerful union, said during an interview Tuesday on the West Virginia radio show MetroNews Talkline.
EPA administrator, over the proposed regulations, which would limit greenhouse gas emissions from new power plants. Opponents of the regulations, including Roberts, say the new rules would be the death knell of the coal industry.
New coal-fired power plants would have to install technology to capture carbon dioxide emissions in order to comply with the rules. The technology, known as carbon capture and storage (CCS), “is not commercially available,” Roberts said.
“This rule is an all-out, in my opinion, decision by the EPA that we’re never going to have another coal-fired facility in the United States that’s constructed,” Roberts said.

“This rule is an all-out, in my opinion, decision by the EPA that we’re never going to have another coal-fired facility in the United States that’s constructed,” Roberts said.
The union chief used colorful language to underscore his point.
“I noticed this past week the vice president was talking about the campaign and he mentioned that Osama Bin Laden was dead and General Motors was alive,” Roberts said. “He should have gone on to say that the coal industry is not far behind with respect to what happened with Osama Bin Laden.”
While the United Mine Workers of America likely won’t actively oppose President Obama’s reelection bid, Roberts said the new EPA regulation could prevent the union from endorsing the president.
“That’s something that we have not done yet and may not do because of this very reason. Our people’s jobs are on the line,” Roberts said, adding that Obama has “done a lot of great things for the country.”
Roberts’s comments underscore the vehement opposition to the new EPA regulations in coal states whose economies rely heavily on the fossil fuel.
The rules would require new power plants that burn fossil fuels to release no more than 1,000 pounds of carbon dioxide per megawatt‐hour.
The agency said new natural-gas plants will be able to meet the standard without adding any additional technology. But new coal plants would need to add new technology like CCS, in which carbon dioxide emissions are collected and sequestered in the ground rather than released into the atmosphere.
The rules give new coal-fired power plants flexibility to meet the standard. Instead of meeting the standard on an annual basis, new coal plants that install CCS can use a 30-year average of their carbon dioxide emissions, according to EPA.
The proposed standards come as plans to build new coal plants have been waylaid by competition from inexpensive natural gas — which is undergoing a production boom — and other factors.
Environmental groups have cheered the regulations, with Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune noting that they will “make it nearly impossible to build a new coal plant.”
Roberts, in Tuesday’s interview with host Hoppy Kercheval, took aim at the Sierra Club, arguing the environmental group’s campaign to shut down coal plants is killing jobs.
“This is a broader problem for me than it is for the Sierra Club or the EPA,” Roberts said. “And I’m convinced, Hoppy, that if you give the Sierra Club enough money, they could shut your job down. I don’t know how they’d do it, but they’d figure out a way.”
WHITE HOUSE TRIES TO REBRAND OBAMACARE MANDATE EARNEST CALLS GOVERNMENT MANDATE ‘PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY CLAUSE
WHITE HOUSE TRIES TO REBRAND MANDATE
EARNEST CALLS GOVERNMENT MANDATE ‘PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY CLAUSE’

BY: Bill McMorris – March 28, 2012 3:25 pm
The Obama administration is now referring to Obamacare as a “bi-partisan bill” and calling the unpopular individual mandate “a Republican idea,” following three days of tough questioning by the Supreme Court.
“The Affordable Care Act is a bipartisan plan and one that we think is constitutional,” Deputy White House press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters on Wednesday afternoon.
No Republican voted for the Affordable Care Act on final passage.
He also referred to the individual mandate as the “individual responsibility” clause of the bill, in an attempt to distance the administration from the term individual mandate.
“The administration remains confident that the Affordable Care Act is constitutional; one of the reasons for that is that the original personal responsibility clause…was a conservative idea,” he said.
Conservatives have blasted the administration for the individual mandate and only one Republican voted for Obamacare in both houses of the legislature.
Earnest deflected questions about the future of the law and Solicitor General Donald Verrilli. Many analysts have said that the court is likely to overturn Obama’s signature law after conservative members of the court, as well as Obama appointee Justice Sonia Sotomayor, bombarded Verilli with blistering questions over the mandate.
“There have been lower court cases where conservative judges have posed difficult, tough questions to Department of Justice lawyers … and conservative judges, who posed tough questions ended up upholding the Affordable Care Act,” he said.
Some also questioned the Verrilli’s performance, as he stumbled and coughed at times in defending the bill on Tuesday. Earnest defended the attorney.
“He’s one of the brightest legal minds in Washington, D.C.,” he said. “He gave a very solid performance before the Supreme Court, that’s just a fact.”
The spokesman did not know if President Obama had listened to trial transcripts, as he was flying back from Seoul, South Korea. He repeatedly said that the administration is not preparing contingency plans if Obamacare is struck down.
“We are focused on implementing all of the provisions of the law because they are important benefits,” he said, adding “we’re not, no,” when reporters asked again if alternative strategies are being considered.
“If there’s a reason or a need to consider contingencies down the line, then we will.”
The Heritage Foundation has been credited with introducing the concept of the individual mandate during the debate over Hillary Clinton’s healthcare reform almost 20 years ago, but has since come to oppose it. It is not the only group that has changed sides on the issue: Obama slammed then-rival Hillary Clinton over the mandate on the campaign trail.
“We still don’t know how Sen. Clinton intends to enforce a mandate … you can have a situation, which we are seeing right now in the state of Massachusetts, where people are being fined for not having purchased health care but choose to accept the fine because they still can’t afford it, even with the subsidies,” Obama said. “They are then worse off: They then have no health care, and are paying a fine above and beyond that.”
The mandate helped Obama win favor among the healthcare industry, which donated $2.3 million to his 2008 campaign. His fundraising among the healthcare industry has not slowed in 2012, with Obama raking in more than $360,000 from drug makers.
The Supreme Court finished its final day of hearings concerning Obamacare today, with arguments focused on whether a rejection of the individual mandate would invalidate the entire law.
The court is expected to issue a ruling in June.
19 Signs That America Has Become A Crazy Control Freak Nation Where Almost Everything Is Illegal
Do you think that you are free? Most Americans would still probably answer “yes” to that question, but is that really the case?
In the film Edge of Darkness, Mel Gibson stated that “everything is illegal in Massachusetts”. Well, the same could pretty much be said for the United States as a whole.
Our lives are governed by millions of laws, rules and regulations and more are being piled on all the time. In fact, 40,000 new laws just went into effect in January.
Every single new law restricts your freedom just a little bit more. The truth is that America has become a crazy control freak nation where virtually everything that we do is highly regulated. You have probably broken multiple laws today that you don’t even know exist.
We have all become criminals and lawbreakers because almost everything is illegal at this point. Our politicians are convinced that they are “making life better” by piling gigantic mountains of laws onto our backs, and law enforcement authorities are convinced that they are helping society by “cracking down on crime”, but the reality is that our liberties and our freedoms are being strangled by all of this government oppression. This is not the way that America is supposed to work.
Yes, every society needs laws. But the laws should be short enough and simple enough that everybody can read them and understand them.
In America today, there is no possible way that any of us could ever read all of the laws that apply to us. Most of us just live our daily lives and try to do the “right” thing. But there is no guarantee that men with guns will not show up at your door one evening because of some obscure regulation that you have broken.
The following are 19 signs that America has become a crazy control freak nation where almost everything is illegal.
#1 One California town is actually considering making it illegal to smoke in your own backyard.
#2 In Louisiana, a church was recently ordered to stop giving out water because it did not have a permit to do so.
#3 In the United States it is illegal to operate a train that does not have an “F” painted on the front. Apparently without that “F” we all might not know where the front of the train is.
#4 In many U.S. states is it now illegal to collect rain that falls from the sky on to your own property.
#5 In America today it is illegal to milk your cow and sell the milk to your neighbor. If you do this, there is a good chance that federal agents will raid your home at the crack of dawn.
#6 In Washington D.C. it is illegal not to recycle cat litter.
#7 It is illegal to give a tour of the monuments in Washington D.C.without a license.
#8 In the United States it is illegal to sell natural cures for cancer – even if they work.
#9 In the state of Massachusetts it is illegal to deface a milk carton.
#10 In the state of Alabama, bear wrestling is completely illegal.
#11 In Fairbanks, Alaska it is illegal to give alcoholic beverages to a moose.
#12 In Lake Elmo, Minnesota it is illegal to sell pumpkins or Christmas trees that are grown outside city limits.
#13 There is a federal law that makes it illegal to be “annoying” on the Internet.
#14 If you register with a false name on MySpace or Facebook you could potentially “spend five years in federal prison“.
#15 In Hazelwood, Missouri it is illegal for little girls to sell girl scout cookies in the front yards of their own homes.
#16 All over the United States lemonade stands run by children are being shut down because they do not have the proper permits.
#17 In Florida, it is illegal to bring a plastic butter knife to school.
#18 In San Juan Capistrano, California it is illegal to hold a home Bible study without a “conditional use permit“.
#19 In the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania it is illegal to make even a single dollar from a blog unless you buy a $300 business license.
Sadly, this list of crazy laws and ridiculous regulations could be thousands long.
We are a nation run by a bunch of control freaks who do not care about our liberties and our freedoms.
Every once in a while, John Stossel does some really great reporting. An example of this is posted below. In this 40-minute video, Stossel goes into great detail about how almost everything is illegal in America today. In particular, the first 20 minutes are absolutely excellent. If you have not seen this yet, I highly encourage you to check it out.
Joys of Muslim Women
Michael Smith 10:41pm Mar 3
A Must Read!!!
Subject: The Joys of Being A Muslim Wife
All true Americans need to read this – Please Forward to everyone you know.
This was written by a woman born in Egypt as a Muslim. This is not hearsay, and it will scare you.
Joys of Muslim Women
by Nonie Darwish
In the Muslim faith a Muslim man can marry a child as young as 1 year old and have sexual intimacy with this child, consummating the marriage by 9. The dowry is given to the family in exchange for the woman (who becomes his slave) and for the purchase of the private parts of the woman, to use her as a toy.
Even though a woman is abused, she cannot obtain a divorce.
To prove rape, the woman must have (4) male witnesses.
Often after a woman has been raped, she is returned to her family and the family must return the dowry. The family has the right to execute her (an honor killing) to restore the honor of the family. Husbands can beat their wives ‘at will’ and the man does not have to say why he has beaten her.
The husband is permitted to have 4 wives and a temporary wife for an hour (prostitute) at his discretion.
The Shariah Muslim law controls the private as well as the public life of the woman..
In the Western World ( America ), Muslim men are starting to demand Shariah Law so the wife can not obtain a divorce and he can have full and complete control of her. It is amazing and alarming how many of our sisters and daughters attending American Universities are now marrying Muslim men and submitting themselves and their children unsuspectingly to the Shariah law.
By passing this on, enlightened American women may avoid becoming a slave under Shariah Law.
Ripping the West in Two. Author and lecturer Nonie Darwish says the goal of radical Islamists is to impose Shariah law on the world, ripping Western law and liberty in two.
She recently authored the book, Cruel and Usual Punishment: The Terrifying Global Implications of Islamic Law.
Darwish was born in Cairo and spent her childhood in Egypt and Gaza before immigrating to America in 1978, when she was eight years old. Her father died while leading covert attacks on Israel . He was a high-ranking Egyptian military officer stationed with his family in Gaza .
When he died, he was considered a “shahid,” a martyr for jihad. His posthumous status earned Nonie and her family an elevated position in Muslim society.
But Darwish developed a skeptical eye at an early age. She questioned her own Muslim culture and upbringing. She converted to Christianity after hearing a Christian preacher on television.
In her latest book, Darwish warns about creeping Sharia law – what it is, what it means, and how it is manifested in Islamic countries.
For the West, she says radical Islamists are working to impose Sharia on the world. If that happens, Western civilization will be destroyed. Westerners generally assume all religions encourage a respect for the dignity of each individual. Islamic law (Sharia) teaches that non-Muslims should be subjugated or killed in this world.
Peace and prosperity for one’s children is not as important as assuring that Islamic law rules everywhere in the Middle East and eventually in the world.
While Westerners tend to think that all religions encourage some form of the golden rule, Sharia teaches two systems of ethics – one for Muslims and another for non-Muslims. Building on tribal practices of the seventh century, Sharia encourages the side of humanity that wants to take from and subjugate others.
While Westerners tend to think in terms of religious people developing a personal understanding of and relationship with God, Sharia advocates executing people who ask difficult questions that could be interpreted as criticism.
It’s hard to imagine, that in this day and age, Islamic scholars agree that those who criticize Islam or choose to stop being Muslim should be executed. Sadly, while talk of an Islamic reformation is common and even assumed by many in the West, such murmurings in the Middle East are silenced through intimidation.
While Westerners are accustomed to an increase in religious tolerance over time, Darwish explains how petro dollars are being used to grow an extremely intolerant form of political Islam in her native Egypt and elsewhere.
In twenty years, there will be enough Muslim voters in the U.S. to elect the President by themselves! Rest assured they will do so… You can look at how they have taken over several towns in the USA .. Dearborn Mich. is one… and there are others…
I think everyone in the U.S. should be required to read this, but with the ACLU, there is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on!
It is too bad that so many are disillusioned with life and Christianity to accept Muslims as peaceful.. some may be but they have an army that is willing to shed blood in the name of Islam.. the peaceful support the warriors with their finances and own kind of patriotism to their religion. While America is getting rid of Christianity from all public sites and erasing God from the lives of children the Muslims are planning a great jihad on America
Demons, devils and an unholy campaign
By Wesley Pruden
Maybe everybody should follow Michelle Obama’s example and take a vacation from politics. She’s off to Aspen to get in a little snow, seeking relief from surfing in Hawaii and the clatter and bang-bang of Campaign ‘12. The rest of us can at least fantasize a fun weekend in Detroit.
The Republican debates, so called, have left everyone shell-shocked, suffering under the constant cannonading of stinkbombs, heavy artillery and watching the mortar barrage between Channel 3 and Channel 5. Mitt Romney continues his run for cover, Rick Santorum throws mangled Scripture, and Newt Gingrich, fortified by new transfusions of fools’ millions, tells the frontrunner it’s time for him to think about quitting. This could have been Harold Stassen’s opportunity to indulge an urge to surge—but, alas, he’s still dead.
Barack Obama is finally getting a little good news from the polls, even if it’s likely to be temporary good news. A couple of pollsters say his positives now weigh as much as his negatives, and for the moment he doesn’t have to mess with Mr. In-Between. Besides, he’s got other worries, familiar to every father with a daughter in junior high school. As usual, it’s enough to make liberals talk like conservatives.
“Never look back,” the pitcher and philosopher Satchel Paige once said. “Something might be gaining on you.”
The president visited the Master Lock works in Milwaukee last week and was mesmerized by the sight of what he called “the really industrial-size locks.” Said the president: “I was thinking about the fact that I am the father of two girls who are soon to be in high school and it might come in handy to have those super locks. For now, I’m just counting on the fact that when they go to school there are men with guns with them.”
The most partisan Republican can’t blame the father of not one, but two daughters in junior high school for thinking about clinging to guns, even if they are guns in the hands of the presidential bodyguards who are trained to shoot and ask questions afterward. Master Lock may not manufacture the locks the president may have in mind, but we take his point, and offer a tea bag and a little sympathy. (Who says politics can’t be civil?)
Rick Santorum stepped up his fusillade of doctrine and barrage of religious dogma, aiming it not at Mitt Romney but at the president. Mr. Obama’s political agenda, he said, is based on “some phony theology, not a theology based on the Bible. A different theology.” He suggested that the president practices a different kind of Christianity. “In the Christian church there are a lot of different stripes of Christianity. If the president says he’s a Christian, he’s a Christian.”
This is goofy stuff indeed, and Mr. Santorum could get arguments about his concept of what it means to be a Christian from preachers and bishops alike. The Obama campaign said Mr. Santorum’s latest theological broadside was “the latest low in a Republican primary campaign that has been fueled by distortions, ugliness and searing pessimism and negativity.”
But look who’s talking. The president’s own should get a deep breath, too, and take the sage advice of Satchel Paige, the famous pitcher and philosopher from the previous century, who imagined it was not politics but fried food that “angries up” the blood. “Never look back,” ol’ Satch said. “Something might be gaining on you.”
Rep. Maxine Waters of California, who sees frightful apparitions everywhere she looks, told the California state Democratic convention last week that House Speaker John Boehner and Eric Cantor, the Republican majority leader, are “demons” and now she’s afraid to watch television. “I saw pictures of Boehner and Cantor on our screens. Don’t ever let me see again in life those Republicans in our hall, on our screens, talking about anything. These are demons.”
It could be worse than she thinks. The latest news from Chicago is that Congress appears to be descending into the outer suburbs (if not yet the inner precincts) of hell. A Chicago pastor says “satanic forces” are plotting to defeat Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. in his bid for re-election to Congress from his Chicago district. His problems, with a fierce challenge in the Democratic primary, appear to be not so much ethereal as real.
The good news is that soon the primary season will be over at last, the grown-ups will take charge, and the real campaign will begin. (I think.) We’ll look back on these as innocent, harmless and golden days. Ghost stories are scary and innocent fun. But you never know.

Obummer, you’re wrong, boosting US oil production would be huge
By Peter Morici
When Barack Obama assumed the presidency, gas prices were less than $2 a gallon. He proceeded to shut down deep-water drilling in the Gulf, tightened other federal restrictions on petroleum development, and vetoed the Keystone Pipeline. Now, even with Americans driving not a lot more than three years ago and global growth slowing, gas is nearing $4 a gallon.
The liberal theocracy in academia, the media and the Democratic Party leadership relentlessly expounds that drilling for oil in the United States won’t much affect U.S. gas prices, because petroleum prices are set in global markets. And, more domestic oil production or U.S. access to Canadian petroleum won’t much change global supplies, or the pace of economic recovery and unemployment.
Balderdash!
Oil prices paid by U.S. refineries in the Gulf do move with global prices but not in lockstep. Despite a recent reduction in U.S. refinery capacity, increasing North American production would lower refinery acquisition costs.
U.S. refineries, like others around the world, are built to handle the special characteristics of oil produced by their primary sources of supply. And gasoline produced by individual refineries is not wholly fungible either—differing fuel characteristics are required across the United States and Europe to meet environmental standards.
Although tensions with Iran are growing and pushing up oil prices everywhere, prices have diverged between, for example, U.S. and European markets.
For years, prices for West Texas Intermediate and North Sea Brent moved closely, but now WTI is selling for $17 less than its North Sea counterpart.
This indicates the U.S. market is becoming somewhat separate and less wholly determined by global conditions; hence, more domestic production and increased access to Canadian oil would lower U.S. oil and prices—more drilling in the Gulf and elsewhere in North America, and the Keystone pipeline would significantly affect gas prices and employment.
More importantly, whether Americans pay $115 a barrel for oil from Saudi Arabia and Nigeria or obtained from the Gulf of Mexico and other domestic deposits makes a huge difference.
The annual trade deficit on petroleum is about $300 billion. Raising U.S. oil production to its sustainable potential of 10 million barrels a day would cut import costs in half, directly create 1.5 million jobs, and applying administration economic models for stimulus spending, create another 1 million jobs indirectly.
Overall, attaining U.S. oil production potential would boost GDP about $250 billion. Not bad, because it could be accomplished by increasing federal revenues from royalties and reducing the federal deficit, instead of adding to it through additional stimulus spending and subsidies to questionable solar and wind projects.
Recently, the president ridiculed GOP presidential candidates for urging more domestic petroleum development stating, “Anyone who tells you we can drill our way out of this problem doesn’t know they’re talking about—or just isn’t telling you the truth.”
That’s simply not so—drilling for more oil in the United States could make a big difference.
Under Mr. Obama’s stewardship, the U.S. economy is not recovering as it should. As per usual, the president distracts public attention from poor policy choices by blaming and ridiculing others.
After three years, the president, who promised Americans millions of clean energy jobs in place of a thriving petroleum industry and much lower unemployment, should own up to his mistakes. Most Americans are needlessly paying too much for gas and foreign oil, while federally subsidized solar and wind projects are filing for bankruptcy.
This November, poor judgment and weakness of character—such as the president’s repeated attacks on the petroleum industry and failure to take responsibility for the consequences of his actions—make the most compelling case for change.
Americans should not expect a perfect president but at least one who bases decisions on facts not whimsy, and learns from mistakes.
Americans are simply not getting fact-based leadership and good judgment from President Obama.

‘HOOKING KIDS ON SEX’: GRAPHIC NEW VID REPORT SHOWS HOW PLANNED PARENTHOOD IS CREATING ‘FUTURE CUSTOMERS
On the heels of the fracas that resulted from the Susan G. Komen Foundation pulling Planned Parenthood funding, and then reinstating it, comes a new report that might make the breast cancer research giant a little uncomfortable.
The American Life League has released a graphic new video report that it says shows how Planned Parenthood “exposes children to sexual material in order to seed a generation of sex addicts, who will become future customers for the abortion giant.”“If you aren’t convinced by now that there are some truly sick pups behind Planned Parenthood, this video from the American Life League should erase any lingering doubts,” the Right Scoop says. “In the name of ‘education,’ Planned Parenthood exposes children as young as 10 years old to pornographic illustrations of masturbation, nudity, sexual activity, and much much more.”

“Any parent that sees the video of Planned Parenthood’s material for school children will be horrified,” Jim Sedlak, vice president of the American Life League, told Life Site News. “Planned Parenthood’s business model is aimed at making money from people who are engaged in sexual activity. Those are the women who will have abortions, which made up 51% of Planned Parenthood’s clinic revenue in 2010.”
What’s he talking about? Here’s an explanation:
In one section the video, “Hooking Kids on Sex,” talks about a book for 10-year-olds with graphic images about how to masturbate, put on a condom and have sexual intercourse.
[...]
The video also discusses Planned Parenthood of the Upper Hudson’s S.T.A.R.S (Seriously Talking About Responsible Sex), which required applicants to the program to be high school students and go to the sexually explicit Capital Pride.
The video begins with graphic images showing how Planned Parenthood regularly uses props shaped as male and female genitals — including suckers — in their pitches.
You can watch the video below. But warning, there is some graphic content:

$45 Billion Tax Increase Hits Families and Small Business
BUDGET WATCH: $45 Billion Tax Increase On American Energy Production Will Hit Families, Small Businesses and Rural Communities Hardest
WASHINGTON, D.C., February 13, 2012 – Since his State of the Union Address, President Obama has repeatedly talked about expanding “all-of-the-above” energy production. However, a closer look at his Fiscal Year 2013 budget proposal reveals more of the same job-destroying tax increases on American energy that will stifle production and cost jobs. The President simply doesn’t understand that raising taxes on energy production will ultimately end up costing American families and small businesses thousands of dollars at a time when they can least afford cost of living increases.
For example, every penny the price of gasoline increases, it costs consumers an accumulated $4 million per day. As gasoline prices continue to rise, the last thing consumers need is more expensive energy due to President Obama’s billions of dollars in tax increases.
Specific energy tax and fee proposals in the President’s budget:
Tax on production of hardrock minerals ($1.8 billion)
Non-producing lease fee ($738 million)
Offshore inspection fees ($30 million)
Onshore inspection fees ($480 million)
Repeal Domestic Manufacturing Tax Deduction for oil and natural gas ($11.6 billion)
Repeal expensing for intangible drilling costs ($13.9 billion)
Repeal percentage depletion for oil and natural gas wells ($11.4 billion)
Increase geological and geophysical amortization period for independent producers to seven years ($1.4 billion)
Repeal percentage depletion for hard mineral fossil fuels ($1.7 billion)
Tax increase for Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund ($717 million)
Repeal expensing of exploration and development costs ($440 million)
Repeal domestic manufacturing deduction for hard mineral fossil fuels ($271 million)
Tax increase on capital gains coal royalties ($422 million)
Repeal exemption to passive loss limitation for working interests in oil and natural gas properties ($82 million)
Repeal deduction for tertiary injectants ($100 million)
Obama Administration Reveals Global Government Plan If Given Second Term
Make no mistake – when the Director of the White House National Economic Council reveals a desire to implement a global tax on all nations, he is also revealing the Obama administration’s strong desire to govern well beyond the confines of America’s borders if re-elected in 2012.
The Obama adminstration’s Gene Sperling and his globalization hopes were put on display in a public forum this past week where the NEC director gave a strong push for what he deems a much needed “global minimum tax.” This tax would, according to Sperling, help ensure everyone is “paying their fair share.” (A prominent Barack Obama re-election theme)
As to who would oversee the implementation of such a new world order measure, Sperling said little – brushing past the implications by simply stating more information of the plan would be forthcoming at a later date. This admission though suggests the Obama administration already has the plan far beyond the speculative stage – it is likely ready to be implemented during a second Obama term. A global minimum tax would certainly fit snugly within Barack Obama’s already quite cozy relationship with global unions such as Leo Gerard’s USW – President Obama has already acted in conjunction with Gerard’s own union expansion into such areas as Brazil and Central Africa.
Will a vote for Barack Obama in 2012 be a vote against America’s own sovereignty where the interests of the nation take a backseat to the interests of Big Labor and entities such as the IMF and the United Nations?

THE DINK DOES IT AGAIN -Joe-Biden-in-San Francisco-says- San Francisco Giants-are-Super-Bowl-Bound
VP Biden, in San Francisco: ‘Giants are on their way to the Super Bowl’
Vice President Joe Biden got his San Francisco pro sports teams mixed up at the wrong time Wednesday.
Biden told attendees at a Bay Area campaign stop that “the Giants are on their way to the Super Bowl.” According to the Oakland Tribune, the gaffe drew a “good-natured” round of boos.
The VP tried to control the damage by saying he’s accustomed to talking about the baseball Giants and their successes. He apologized, and then correctly cited the 49ers on his second attempt.
The Niners and football Giants will square off in Sunday’s NFC Championship game at Candlestick Park

The Extraordinary Stupidity Of Nancy Pelosi As Quoted: “Mitt Romney Is The Choice Of The Far Right
Posted by Barry Secrist Published on January 18th, 2012 @ 10:59:07 pm ,
Pelosi proves the poignant point which states that “Ambition and cerebral Wit do not always bunk together”
Now many might state, to Pelosi’s vacuous ruminations, that she was baiting the Republicans to go with a worse choice, that choice not being Romney. But, trust me, if that were the case, she would have never called a man who has called himself a Progressive and held many identical positions to Obama in the past, as the far-Right choice.
Sorry, but Nancy is far more ideological than she is politically saavy, at least as it regards Conservative politics, otherwise, she would have found a way to hold her position in the House, and she would have never bought the Obama-Marxist agenda, lock, stock and barrel.Politico
By SEUNG MIN KIM
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday launched political grenades at Mitt Romney, arguing that Republicans haven’t coalesced behind the GOP frontrunner because they don’t believe he can beat President Barack Obama in November.
The House’s top Democrat repeatedly jabbed at the former Massachusetts governor during an hour-long interview hosted by POLITICO and taunted the GOP for a slate of presidential contenders that she said was “not exactly what you would call the first string of the Republican Party.”
“If the far right thought that Romney could win, they might be more enthusiastic about him,” Pelosi told POLITICO’s Mike Allen during Tuesday’s Playbook Breakfast. “But they question what he stands for and they don’t think he’s going to win. So what’s the sell? I’m not sure he knows what he stands for, and that makes it harder too.”
“I don’t know who knows him,” she added of Romney. “Does he know him?”
When asked about Romney’s vow to veto the DREAM Act if he were president, Pelosi said that showed he lacked an “understanding” of policies that would not only help young illegal immigrants but bolster the United States’s competitiveness in a global economy.
“He’s not going to be president,” Pelosi said. “But I think it’s indicative of a hard line that doesn’t seem consistent with who he was as governor.”
And though she remains one of the most prominent congressional figures, Pelosi said she has no problem with Obama running against a so-called “do-nothing” Congress as he campaigns to keep the White House in 2012.
“This is a Congress that has done such a disservice to our country,” Pelosi said. “Bless their hearts. They do what they believe, these Republicans. They do what they believe. And they do not believe in a government that has any role in clean air, clean water, food safety, public safety, public health, public education, Medicare, Medicaid.”
Pelosi, the first female House speaker in history, struck an optimistic tone as she outlined her strategy this year for Democrats to win in November and for her to take back the speaker’s gavel. She mapped out six states that she said would be critical to win the 25 districts needed for Democrats to regain control of the House – Illinois, New York, California, Texas, Florida and Arizona – and set an even higher bar of 35 seats.
She said Democrats have targeted about 75 districts so far and would have to play in at least 50 of them to have a shot at winning back 25 seats. Pelosi also touted female congressional candidates such as Tammy Duckworth, a former assistant secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs who is running for Congress in Illinois, and former Orlando police chief Val Demings, who is trying to unseat Rep. Daniel Webster (R-Fla.).
Ultimately, it didn’t matter which Republican was at the top of the ticket for House Democrats, according to Pelosi.
“For us, this cast of characters, it’s not about them,” Pelosi said “It’s about President Obama, how well he will do and our candidates — how they compare and contrast to the candidates that they’re running against.”
CBS News: 11 More Solyndras In Obama Energy Program
CBS News’ Sharyl Attkisson takes a look at 11 more Solyndras that were part of Obama’s Energy program. Attkisson was one of the original reporters that uncovered the Solyndra scandal.
CBS News counted 12 clean energy companies that are having trouble after collectively being approved for more than $6.5 billion in federal assistance. Five have filed for bankruptcy: The junk bond-rated Beacon, Evergreen Solar, SpectraWatt, AES’ subsidiary Eastern Energy and Solyndra.
According to CBS News, Beacon Power, a “green energy storage company,” recieved $43 million from the government. Standard and Poor’s had given the project a rating of “CCC-plus.”
