Gun Control’s “Signature City” Windy With Bullets for Father’s Day: 24 Shot, Six Dead in Chicago
By Peter Nickeas, Anthony Souffle and Carlos SadoviChicago Tribune
Two dozen people were shot Saturday afternoon into Father’s Day Sunday across the city, according to authorities.
Of the 24 people shot, six died either at the crime scenes or at local hospitals. The youngest was 16. One of the men killed was an armed man shot by police after he raised a 9-millimeter handgun in their direction after bailing from a moving car, authorities said.
The shootings stretched from 9400 S. Loomis Avenue on the South Side up to about North Avenue and Pulaski in the Hermosa neighborhood.
• The first homicide of the night was about 10:12 p.m. Saturday inside a club on 79th Street between Ellis and Ingleside avenues in the Grand Crossing neighborhood, where four men were shot, one fatally, after someone opened the door to the club and started shooting.
Todd Wood, 40, of the 8100 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue in the Chatham neighborhood, was pronounced dead at Advocate Trinity Hospital at 12:45 a.m. this morning, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Also wounded in that attack were a 35-year-old man who was shot in the leg, a 25-year-old man shot in the leg, and a 24-year-old man shot in the chest. The man with the chest wound is in critical condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center, the 35-year-old’s condition has stabilized atUniversity of Chicago Hospitals and the 25-year-old walked into Jackson Park Hospital with a minor leg wound, police said.
• The second killing of the night was in the Little Village neighborhood on the South Side. Five people were shot overnight in that neighborhood — three near 26th Street and Ridgeway Avenue and two others at 31st Street and Pulaski Road, police said.
The shooting on Ridgeway about 10:50 p.m. included the fatality. Ricardo Herrera, 21, died at the scene. He lived nearby, in the 2400 block of South Marshall Boulevard, according to the medical examiner. Two others, one who was 20 years old and the other who was in his 20s, were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. Someone approached the trio, who were standing on the block, and started shooting.
A couple blocks west and five blocks south, at 31st Street and Pulaski Road, two people were shot about 12:30 a.m. A woman had just stepped out of a car on 31st Street when a gray Jeep pulled alongside and six shots were fired at the car, hitting the 22-year-old woman in the thigh and the 18-year-old driver of the car in the head, chest and shoulder.
The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious-to-critical condition and the woman limped over to a nearby laundromat, where paramedics found her with a hip wound.
• A 16-year-old boy was killed in the Hermosa neighborhood on the Northwest Side about 11:45 p.m., police said. Someone on a bicycle shot him in the 4100 block of West North Avenue. Kevin Rivera, of the 1500 block of North Keystone Avenue, was pronounced dead at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center about 1:35 a.m. The boy, from the West Humboldt Park neighborhood, had attempted to run from the scene after getting shot but collapsed a few feet away from where the shooting happened.
• About 1:15 a.m. in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, a 19-year-old man was shot to death. Police there responded to a call of a person shot in the 7400 block of South Parnell Avenue and found Jamal Jones, of the 8800 block of South Yale Avenue in the West Chatham neighborhood, bleeding from his head, chest and shoulder, police said. He was pronounced dead at Christ hospital at 2:18 a.m., according to the medical examiner.
• About 1:35 a.m., a man was killed and a woman wounded in the 200 block of South Keeler Avenue in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side, police said. Cortez Wilberton, of the 200 block of South Lavergne Avenue in the nearby Austin neighborhood, was pronounced dead at Loretto Hospital at 2:13 a.m., according to the medical examiner The woman, 31, suffered a graze wound to the face and was treated at Loretto Hospital, police said.
In other shootings:
• The most recent shooting happened about 4:10 a.m. in the 3400 block of West Walnut Street in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. A 34-year-old man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with gunshot wounds to his face and chest, according to police. A friend dropped off the man, described by police as an uncooperative victim.
• A 32-year-old man, standing with a group of friends, was shot about 1 a.m. by someone who opened fire from inside a passing red SUV. The man, shot in the 2000 block of West 56th Street in West Englewood, is in stable condition at Holy Cross Hospital, police said.
• A 20-year-old was shot about 9:45 p.m. in the 9400 block South Loomis Street in the Brainerd neighborhood on the South Side. He was hit in the buttocks and thigh and his condition has stabilized at Christ hospital, police said. Someone shot toward him and a group of other men from inside a passing minivan.
• Three people were shot about 9:30 p.m. in the 7700 block of South Homan Avenue in the Ashburn neighborhood on the Southwest Side. Someone shot at a group of people from inside a light-colored car, hitting a man in the leg, a 21-year-old man in the leg and arm, and a woman whose age wasn’t available in the thigh. The woman was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, and the two men to Christ hospital, police said.
• The first shootings Saturday, of four people in two connected incidents, were both about 2:15 p.m. in the Marquette Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
It began with three people being shot on Artesian Avenue just south of 72nd Street, police said. Two were taken in serious-to-critical condition to Christ hospital in Oak Lawn, and a third person was taken in fair-to-serious condition to Holy Cross Hospital, according toChicago Fire Department Chief Will Knight.
A 15-year-old boy was shot in the right arm, a 19-year-old man was shot in the right leg and a 23-year-old man was shot in the back, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.
The victims told police they were standing on the street when they heard shots and were struck, Zala said.
Police said the shooter in that incident was subsequently wounded neighborhood in retaliation in the 2500 block of West 74th Street several blocks away and was taken into custody at his house nearby. Police seized two long guns and three handguns there, authorities said.
The suspect is being questioned by police. No one is in custody for shooting the suspect, police said.
FBI Director Performs Brilliant Composite of Sergeant Shultz and Inspector Clouseau in Congressional Hearing
In other words, “I know nothing, I see nothing and I’m clueless.”
Pretty much the response of virtually every Obama Cabinet Leader.
But…”What difference does it make?”
Answer: None, we already know the overall answers……duplicitous incompetence.

The country’s top investigator seemed to be in the dark Thursday when pressed to provide details of the IRS investigation into the tax agency’s targeting of Tea Party and conservative groups.
Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, seemed to rattle FBI Director Robert Mueller for not knowing the specifics surrounding the IRS probe.
“You’ve had a month now to investigate,” Jordan said. “This has been the biggest story in the country and you can’t even tell me who the lead investigator is. You can’t tell me the actions the inspector general took which are not typically how investigations are done. You can’t tell me if that’s appropriate or not. This is not speculation. This is what happened.”
Mueller repeatedly declined to answer Jordan’s questions, saying he couldn’t because the investigation was ongoing or that he’d have to get back to the lawmakers with answers.
When Jordan asked again,” Can you tell me who the lead investigator is?” Mueller responded, “Off the top of my head, no.”

When Jordan asked again,” Can you tell me who the lead investigator is?” Mueller responded, “Off the top of my head, no.”

Mueller, who is stepping down from his post in September, said that if the metadata collection program had been in place before the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, they would have identified one of the 9/11 hijackers in San Diego and most likely derailed the plot.
But Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers Jr. said he was “not persuaded that the argument makes it OK to collect information on every call,” adding, that by Mueller’s interpretation, it would be “anything and everything goes” situation.
Mueller also testified that the government’s controversial surveillance programs that recently surfaced complied “in full with U.S. law and with basic rights guaranteed under the Constitution.”
The Justice Department revealed last month that it had secretly gathered emails of Fox News correspondent James Rosen and phone records of The Associated Press in an effort to crack down on leakers of classified information.
The department later acknowledged that Attorney General Eric Holder was on board with a search warrant for Rosen’s personal emails, obtained after federal officials accused him in an affidavit of being a likely criminal “co-conspirator” under a wartime law known as the Espionage Act.
Authorities also obtained phone records for Fox News lines, including those for a number that matched the number of Rosen’s parents.
In the past week, a 29-year-old contractor leaked National Security Agency documents on the agency’s collection of millions of U.S. phone records and the NSA’s collection of emails and other information that people transmit online to and from foreign citizens.
That has touched off a national debate over whether the Obama administration, in its efforts to thwart terrorism, has overstepped by using intrusive surveillance methods.
Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., the committee’s chairman, said when it comes to national security leaks, it’s important to balance the need to protect secrecy with the need to let the news media do its job.
Goodlatte also said the committee planned to find out more about the status of what the congressman called the FBI’s “stalled investigation” into the attack in Benghazi, Libya that killed four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador.
As for the Boston Marathon bombings, committee members want to know whether there was a breakdown in information-sharing between federal agencies, preventing the FBI from thwarting the explosions that killed three people and injured more than 260.
More Than 101 Million Working Age Americans Do Not Have A Job
Submitted by Michael Snyder of The Economic Collapse blog,
The jobs recovery is a complete and total myth. The percentage of the working age population in the United States that had a job in March 2013 was exactly the same as it was all the way back in March 2010. In addition, as you will see below, there are now more than 101 million working age Americans that do not have a job. But even though the employment level in the United States has consistently remained very low over the past three years, the Obama administration keeps telling us that unemployment is actually going down.
In fact, they tell us that the unemployment rate has declined from a peak of 10.0% all the way down to 7.6%. And they tell us that in March the unemployment rate fell by 0.1% even though only 88,000 jobs were added to the U.S. economy. But it takes at least 125,000 new jobs a month just to keep up with population growth. So how in the world are they coming up with these numbers? Well, the reality is that the entire decline in the unemployment rate over the past three years can be accounted for by the reduction in size of the labor force.
In other words, the Obama administration is getting unemployment to go down by pretending that millions upon millions of unemployed Americans simply do not want jobs anymore. We saw this once again in March. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, more than 600,000 Americans dropped out of the labor market during that month alone. That pushed the labor force participation rate down to 63.3%, which is the lowest it has been in more than 30 years. So please don’t believe the hype. The sad truth is that there has been no jobs recovery whatsoever.
If things were getting better, there would not be more than 101 million working age Americans without a job.
So exactly where does that statistic come from? Well, the following explains where I got that number…
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are 11,742,000 working age Americans that are officially unemployed.
In addition, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says that there are 89,967,000 working age Americans that are “not in the labor force”. That is a new all-time record, and that number increased by a whopping 663,000 during the month of March alone.
When you add 11,742,000 working age Americans that are officially unemployed to the 89,967,000 working age Americans that are “not in the labor force”, you come up with a grand total of 101,709,000 working age Americans that do not have a job.
When you stop and think about it, that is an absolutely staggering statistic.
And anyone that tells you that “a higher percentage of Americans are working today” is telling you a complete and total lie. During the last recession the percentage of working age Americans with a job fell dramatically, and since then we have not seen that number bounce back at all. In fact, this is the very first time in the post-World War II era that we have not seen the employment-population ratio bounce back after a recession. At this point, the employment-population ratio has been under 60 percent for 49 months in a row…
Since the end of 2009, the employment-population ratio has been remarkably steady. Just check out these numbers…
March 2008: 62.7 percent
March 2009: 59.9 percent
March 2010: 58.5 percent
March 2011: 58.4 percent
March 2012: 58.5 percent
March 2013: 58.5 percent
We should be thankful that the percentage of working age Americans with a job did not continue to decline, but we should also be quite alarmed that it has not bounced back at all.
If there was going to be a recovery, there would have been one by now. The next major economic downturn is rapidly approaching, and that is going to push the employment-population ratio down even farther.
So why is the U.S. economy not producing as many jobs as it used to? Well, certainly the overall decline of the economy has a lot to do with it. We are a nation that is drowning in debt and that is getting poorer by the day.
But since the end of the last recession, corporate profits have bounced back in a big way and are now at an all-time high. So you would figure that the big corporations should be able to hire a lot more workers by now.
Unfortunately, that is not the way things work anymore. Big corporations are trying to minimize the number of expensive American workers that they have on their payrolls as much as possible these days.
One way that they are doing this is through the use of technology. Thanks to robots, computers and other forms of technology, big corporations simply do not need as many human workers as they used to. In future years, this trend is only going to accelerate. I wrote about how this is changing the world of employment in one of my previous articles entitled “Rise Of The Droids: Will Robots Eventually Steal All Of Our Jobs?”
Another way that big corporations are replacing expensive American workers is by shipping their jobs off to the other side of the globe. Big corporations know that they can make bigger profits by making stuff in foreign countries where they can pay workers less than a dollar an hour with no benefits. How in the world are American workers supposed to compete with that?
For much more on how U.S. jobs are being killed by offshoring, please see this article: “55 Reasons Why You Should Buy Products That Are Made In America”.
And of course immigration is having a dramatic impact on the labor market in some areas of the country as well. Cheap labor has dramatically driven down wages in a lot of professions. For example, once upon a time you could live a very nice middle class lifestyle as a roofer. But now many roofers really struggle to make a living.
When you add everything up, it paints a very bleak picture for the future of the American worker.
The cost of living keeps rising much faster than wages do, and the competition for good jobs has become incredibly fierce.
Meanwhile, the government continues to make things even easier for those that are not working. This has caused some Americans to give up completely and to be content with letting the government take care of them. The following is from a recent article by Monty Pelerin…
As we make it easier to get unemployment benefits for longer time periods, more people take advantage of the system. So too with food stamps and disability. All programs are at or near record levels in what is supposed to be four years into an economic recovery. For many, the benefits of becoming a government dependent exceed what they can earn. One study reported that a family of four, collecting all the benefits for which they were entitled, would have to earn $65,000 per annum to have the same after-tax purchasing power.
If you are a product of the government schools and are legal to work (i.e., have skills enough that you are affordable at the minimum wage or higher), at what point do you realize that there is no need to go through the hassle of actual work. You can live pretty well by staying home and taking advantage of the entitlements available to you. That is exactly what a larger and larger percentage of the population are realizing. In many cases, it is economically irrational to work.
This behavior creates a social pathology that only worsens over time. Kids learn from their parents that work is not necessary and the many ways to game the system. In this regard, look for this problem to become worse over time unless these programs are cut back.
In some areas of the country, it actually pays not to work very hard. According to Gary Alexander, the Secretary of Public Welfare for the state of Pennsylvania, a “single mom is better off earnings gross income of $29,000 with $57,327 in net income & benefits than to earn gross income of $69,000 with net income and benefits of $57,045.”
But the truth is that most Americans still want to work hard and would gladly take a good job if they could just find one. The following is one example that was featured in a recent Fox News article…
After a full year of fruitless job hunting, Natasha Baebler just gave up.
She’d already abandoned hope of getting work in her field, working with the disabled. But she couldn’t land anything else, either — not even a job interview at a telephone call center.
Until she feels confident enough to send out resumes again, she’ll get by on food stamps and disability checks from Social Security and live with her parents in St. Louis.
“I’m not proud of it,” says Baebler, who is in her mid-30s and is blind. “The only way I’m able to sustain any semblance of self-preservation is to rely on government programs that I have no desire to be on.”
And that is how most Americans feel.
Most Americans do not want to be dependent on the government.
Most Americans want to work hard and take care of themselves.
Unfortunately, our economy is not producing nearly enough jobs for everyone and it never will again.
So there will continue to be millions upon millions of Americans that find that they cannot take care of themselves and their families without government assistance no matter how hard they try.
And this is just the beginning – things are going to get much worse during the next major wave of the economic collapse.
Yes, at the moment there are more than 101 million working age Americans that do not have a job, but that number is actually going to go much higher in the years ahead. The anger and frustration caused by a lack of employment opportunities is going to shake this nation.
That is why it is important to try to become less dependent on your own job. In this economic environment, a job can disappear at literally any moment. Anything that you can do to become less dependent on the system would be a good thing.

New Benghazi Whistleblowers: Stevens Was Involved In Buyback Of Stinger Missiles From Al-Qaeda
More Benghazi whistleblowers are coming forward according to two former U.S. diplomats. According to the former diplomats, these whistleblowers are obtaining legal counsel because they are not protected by whistleblower laws in the areas that they work in.
PJMedia is reporting of an interview with these diplomats:
The former diplomats inform PJM the new revelations concentrate in two areas — what Ambassador Chris Stevens was actually doing in Benghazi and the pressure put on General Carter Ham, then in command of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) and therefore responsible for Libya, not to act to protect jeopardized U.S. personnel.
Stevens’ mission in Benghazi, they will say, was to buy back Stinger missiles from al-Qaeda groups issued to them by the State Department, not by the CIA. Such a mission would usually be a CIA effort, but the intelligence agency had opposed the idea because of the high risk involved in arming “insurgents” with powerful weapons that endanger civilian aircraft.
Hillary Clinton still wanted to proceed because, in part, as one of the diplomats said, she wanted “to overthrow Gaddafi on the cheap.”
This left Stevens in the position of having to clean up the scandalous enterprise when it became clear that the “insurgents” actually were al-Qaeda – indeed, in the view of one of the diplomats, the same group that attacked the consulate and ended up killing Stevens.
Now this is interesting in light of the fact that Greg Hicks, the deputy chief of mission in Libya, testified before Congress on May 8, testified that Stevens was sent to Benghazi by Clinton to convert the outpost into a permanent diplomatic facility.
Rep. Lankford (R-OK) questioned Hicks, and he explained: “According to [Ambassador] Chris [Stevens], Secretary Clinton wanted Benghazi converted into a permanent constituent post. Timing for this decision was important. Chris needed to report before Sept. 30, the end of the fiscal year, on the physical and the political and security environment in Benghazi to support an action memo to convert Benghazi from a temporary facility to a permanent facility.”
In fact, Jerome Corsi writes, “Hicks explained the directive came from the State Department Office of Near Eastern Affairs, headed by Acting Assistant Secretary Beth Jones, that funds were available to be transferred to Benghazi from a State Department fund set aside for Iraq available, provided the funds transfer had been obligated by September 30.”
“He further testified that in May 2012, during his exit with Secretary Clinton following his being sworn in as U.S. Ambassador for Libya, Stevens promised he would give a priority to making sure the U.S. facility at Benghazi was transformed into a permanent constituent post,” Corsi added.
While damaging to Clinton, it was omitted from the State Department’s Accountability Review Board report. Obviously that would add credibility to Raymond Maxwell’s claims that he believes that Clinton and her staff were running the show on the ARB report’s investigation, not an independent board. Should these claims be brought to light, they would be far more explosive than Hicks’ testimony. It also would add credibility to the theory that the Obama administration was running an international Fast and Furious program.
According to one of the former diplomats, he believes that what took place is similar to the Mike Nichols film Charlie Wilson’s War, which is about a clueless congressman who supplies Stinger missiles to Afghan guerrillas. “It’s as if Hillary and the others just watched that movie and said ‘Hey, let’s do that!’” the diplomat said.
He also believes the leaked emails about former CIA director David Petraeus’s adultery with his biographer Paula Broadwell was intended to silence him., especially since Petraeus had stated that the command to stand down could have only come from Barack Obama. Petraeus testified that he knew Benghazi was terrorist attack instantly.
Additionally, there is indication that ARFICOM had Special Ops “assets in place that could have come to the aid of the Benghazi consulate immediately (not in six hours).”
Apparently General Ham was told by the White House not to send aid to the men under attack in Benghazi, but he disobeyed the orders. However, the White House then “called his deputy and had the deputy threaten to relieve Ham of his command,” according to the diplomat.
Ham quietly retired as head of AFRICOM in April 2013.

The Ponzi Scheme That Masks The Obama Great Depression
Hello, I’m Wayne Allyn Root for Personal Liberty. At this moment, despite the lies and distortions you hear from the Barack Obama-adoring mainstream media, we are experiencing an Obama Great Depression to rival anything we experienced in 1929. But the truth is being covered up by an ever-rising stock market (that is completely disconnected from the economy) and a country awash in “Obama money.”
The Kool-Aid-drinking media is shocked by hundreds of hard facts I’ve put together proving we are in a Great Depression. They ask me: “Well then, why is the stock market doing so well? Why are there no bread lines or tent cities like 1929?”
The answer is simple: Big-government spending on an unimaginable scale masks the true picture of our economy. What you’re seeing is a fraud: the biggest Ponzi scheme in world history. There would certainly be bread lines and tent cities, if government wasn’t handing out billions of dollars in checks, paid for by the Federal Reserve printing trillions in fake dollars.
You’ve seen the numbers. Obama is the biggest spender in world history, adding $6 trillion to the debt in only four years. Where do you think that money is going? To all-time record numbers of Americans on food stamps, disability, welfare and unemployment benefits. Now, of course, we’re embarking on free healthcare for 40 million new patients, with money we don’t have (and no new doctors to treat them).
And just to be certain that the U.S. economy is completely destroyed, now for good measure we want to legalize 12 million illegal aliens, giving them access to more than $9 trillion in entitlements. Makes sense, doesn’t it?
The government is borrowing 46 cents for every dollar it spends. It’s all crazy… literally. We have borrowed from China to pay entitlement checks to Americans who no longer feel it pays to go to work, and to hand out billions of dollars in foreign aid to countries that hate us and support terrorism.
All of this while the Fed is running the printing presses day and night to fund its weapon of mass distraction: Wall Street. As long as the stock market is up, the lapdog media can report the economy is “in recovery.”
The plan is brilliant. You’d almost think Obama is relying on Bernie Madoff as his chief economic consultant — except even Madoff wouldn’t have the cajónes to pull off this scam. Obama has succeeded in turning Wall Street into a rigged craps game. The government is guaranteeing the results. Obama demands the Fed hands out $85 billion of fake money each and every month and drops it onto the plates of the richest publicly traded companies. This guarantees the stock market goes up while their CEOs get filthy rich with rising stock options, which guarantees banks, Wall Street and billionaires like Warren Buffett continue to support Obama.
Meanwhile, on Main Street the real economy is dying. There are no jobs. There is no recovery. Ninety million able-bodied, working-age Americans are not working. The workforce participation rate is setting all-time records for futility. U.S. worker hours are down and U.S. worker salaries are stagnating, while our cost of living is skyrocketing. Recent college grads are drowning in debt, with record levels of student loan default and post-college-graduation unemployment. Older Americans are dipping into their retirement savings in record numbers; 16.4 million Americans live in poverty in the suburbs; and almost 50 percent of Americans have less than $500 in savings.
The middle class is being systematically destroyed. Wiped out. Left with the short end of the stick. The real economy on Main Street is dying. And worst of all, our children and grandchildren will get the bill. This $85 billion per month being used to fraudulently prop up the stock market is all debt being piled onto future generations.
Then there’s Part II of this Obama Ponzi scheme. Separate from the Fed’s $85 billion per month of fake money is the government spending scheme. Obama has handed out billions of dollars in stimulus, bailouts, green energy investments and government contracts to the biggest publicly traded companies, the most corrupt unions and the most connected Democratic contributors. But none of the benefit goes to small business or the middle class that is stuck paying the bill.
Government deficit spending with money we don’t have is now paying for everything, at every level. It’s all to hide the reality that we are living in an Obama Great Depression. There are no bread lines or tent cities because we’re all living on the government dole, paid for with debt. Fraud on a massive scale. The greatest Ponzi scheme in world history.
Housing allowances and food stamps prevent bread lines and tent cities.
Free breakfasts and lunches at school make it seem like children aren’t going hungry.
Earned income tax credits are handed out to millions of lower-income Americans (including illegal aliens) who pay no taxes in the first place.
At the same time, government keeps interest rates artificially low to pump up home and car sales — and to keep the interest on the national debt from eating up the entire budget.
And if record low interest rates aren’t enough, government purchases of GM cars are up 79 percent. The government is artificially propping up GM with your tax dollars. It’s all a scam.
Take away all this spending and printing by government, and it would look exactly like 1929.
We are in an Obama Great Depression masked by government spending and debt that didn’t exist during the first Great Depression. The true extent of this economic Armageddon is being hidden, disguised and propped up with government spending, programs and Fed printing never imagined in the 1930s.
What’s the end game? First, all this spending and printing is to prevent economic collapse and total panic. Second, it’s to achieve the Marxist dream: redistribution of wealth to Obama’s voters and contributors. Third (and this is the big one), it’s to create a two-class society.
Karl Marx hated the middle class. He felt they needed to be eliminated to create equality, fairness and social justice (i.e., shared misery). Will people be hurt? Sure, they’ll lose their jobs and homes. But to Marxists, the end justifies the means. Obama needs a two-class society to make his plan work; the two classes are the super rich and the poor. The key is both are dependent on government to survive.
The super rich love crony capitalism — with Obama handing out stimulus, Fed printing and government contracts like candy. That’s how the super rich and politically connected stay rich and get richer. The rest of us will be poor, which makes us dependent on Obama for government checks to survive. Government will pay for our lives from cradle to grave, while confiscating most of our income.
This is a Ponzi scheme that even Madoff could never have imagined. That’s why you need to develop Y-PODS: Your Personal Obama Defense Shield. It’s all included in my new No. 1 national best-seller, The Ultimate Obama Survival Guide. I wrote it to show the middle class and small business how to survive, thrive and actually prosper from every move Obama makes for the next four years.

OBAMACARE’S SECRET PLAN: DESTROY AND ‘RESCUE’
Exclusive: Dr. Lee Hieb explains how health bill creates disaster – on purpose
by Lee Hieb M.D.
The real name of Obamacare – a name known only to a few policy wonks and politically correct medical students – Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, or PPACA. With a name like that, who could object to it? Who would be against “patient protection” or “affordable” when it comes to a government-funded program such as Medicare? Really, who would want “unaffordable,” though that’s generally what we get in government spending programs? But what does “Affordable Care” really mean?
Although Obamacare is fluid, being rewritten hourly, as of this moment, the plan is to create “accountable care organizations,” or ACOs. These will be defined by geographic areas that contain a certain number of patients. Currently, for example, a pilot ACO blankets a large area of northwestern Iowa.
You the patient, at first, won’t know that you “belong” to the ACO. But the government has assigned you, if you are a Medicare recipient, to a specific ACO. The ACOs will then be held responsible for quality – as defined by government – and for cost containment.
I recently attended a pie-in-the-sky, rah-rah session given by the CFO of one of the new pilot ACOs. He went into great detail about the good deal awaiting those hospital systems that play the game well. The details, as he admitted, are somewhat lacking, as the rules continue to be written. But I got the big picture. The big picture is: This is a three-step shell game to bring about the death of private practice medicine in America.
Here is how it will work.
Step one: America will be sliced up geographically into ACOs, which will gather all sorts of patient-care data for the feds and will be paid a fee for service at Medicare rates. The ACOs will be lauded as the saviors of medicine and given bonuses for quality and cost containment. Currently, they are being offered a 50-percent cash rebate for any savings they bring about. Patients can choose to go anywhere for care, in or out of the ACO. Private practitioners outside the system will be “allowed” to keep practicing, they will not be forced to join the ACOs – that would be un-American – but these small practices will be unable to survive the regulatory burden of Obamacare. So, these doctors will retire early, or close up shop or simply go to work for the ACOs, where they will do better financially.
Step two: Once private practitioners are squeezed out of existence, there will be no competition. The ACOs will be the only show in town and totally under the thumb of the federal government. At this point, the bonus money will go away, and the feds will squeeze down payment to doctors and hospitals. (The CFO who spoke at our meeting may think the federal government is willing to leave free money on the table for him to pick up, but that only is doled out to favored political donors, not to producers. The bonus is simply another bribe historically given to businesses by government in order to make them vassals of the state … and businesses never seem to learn.) Small hospitals will have to consolidate under big ones or go out of business. At this point, to prepare for the final step, rumblings of problems in the ACOs will start.
Step three: As government reimbursements diminish and there is no private option, the system will fail to deliver adequate care. Patients won’t be able to get appointments or timely surgery, doctors will complain, hospital staffs will strike and in general the system will implode. Government, always ready to leap into the breach (and reminiscent of the precedent of the Reichstag fire), will declare a national crisis and push through emergency legislation – that is already in the system – to nationalize health care. Hospitals will be taken over by the feds, doctors and nurses and all necessary personnel will have no choice but to be government employees, and at this point patients will be assigned to the ACOs without any choice in the matter. At the stroke of a pen health insurance will cease to exist, and perhaps the companies who sold insurance will be placed in charge of administrating these ACOs. (This road is already being paved as big companies like Blue Cross are given government contracts to administer Medicare.)
Think this can’t happen? Even some of the ACO administrators admit they are being set up to fail. But fail to what end? To the goal which has been the goal all along: establish a national health service ala Canada or England or Sweden. This is not a medical or societal evolution; this is programmed incremental revolution, and we – like the Russians and French and Cubans – will pay the price, because when free market medicine goes, so goes freedom. The power that brings about this government takeover will not limit itself to medicine. It will consume every facet of the social and economic life of America.
Libertatem requiescant in pace.
