Democratic navel gazing

Democratic navel gazing
by Bob Livingston :

Politicians are not real people. But they rarely go so far as to admit it.

Not so Democrat politicians who this week are at least admitting they not only are not real people, they don’t even understand them. So they are gearing up for the 2018 midterm elections by holding a series of meetings taking lessons on how to talk to real people who voted for Donald Trump, as reported by Politico.

Among the topics covered were “Speaking to those who feel invisible in rural America,” “Listening to those who feel unheard,” and “Rising America – They feel unheard too.” Also, Senator Joe Manchin (D.-W.Va.) was said to have moderated a discussion with Trump voters.

Democrats will have to defend 23 Senate seats in 2018, nine of which are in states won by Trump. Republicans will only have to defend eight. This means Democrats have a long slog if they are to take the Senate in two years.

But if they’re talking to Trump supporters, it’s obvious they’re not listening.

Trump won because he was sympathetic to the concerns of voters – Republican and Democrat — who said they were hurting from eight years of Obama economic policies and nobody – not Democrats or establishment Republicans – seemed to care. Rising Obamacare premiums, shuttered factories, lost jobs, crony trade deals and seeking after someone willing to get control of the country’s illegal immigration problem were also issues that drove voters to support Trump, who promised to tackle those problems.

But Democrats are opposing Trump’s solutions to each of these issues.

The monkey in the wrench – to paraphrase a movie line – comes with Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) who is said to be prepping Democrats on how to engage against Donald Trump’s Supreme Court pick. Filling the open Supreme Court with a conservative — particularly one who guarantees to keep the 2nd Amendment safe — in the mold of the departed Antonin Scalia was also one of Trump’s top campaign themes.

The Democrats’ core constituencies were hard at work this past week. On Friday they rioted, looted, burned, tried to set Trump supporters on fire, broke windows and attacked police. On Saturday they — mostly women — donned vagina hats, vagina costumes, pants with red liquid splashed on the crotch and other silly apparel and railed about how they had no “rights” in the first place, and if they did have any Trump was going to take them away. They ranted and screamed and scrawled filthy words and platitudes on signs and paraded about like idiots, chanted mindless and shallow slogans and listened to unhinged speeches by unhinged entertainers so far removed from middle America they couldn’t find it with both hands and a guide dog.

The abhorrent spectacle was treated as normal by the mainstream media and embraced by Democrat politicians.

People in flyover country, normal people – the very people Democrats say they want to listen to – were appalled, put off and, frankly, embarrassed by the grotesque nature of the whole thing.

So let’s get this straight. Democrat politicians aren’t going to Iowa, Nebraska, Ohio, Missouri, Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia, Wyoming, Michigan or rural West Virginia, or any of the other states Trump carried, to talk to Trump supporters and learn why they went for Trump. Instead, Democrat politicians are huddling just outside the beltway in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, cloistered with other Democrat politicians, leftist think tanks and political hacks, discussing how to triangulate Trump’s policies and oppose his SCOTUS nominees under the guise of learning to listen to real people.

Meanwhile, among the candidates being considered to run the Democratic National Committee is a white woman who says “white people” need to “shut their mouths” and a Muslim who has penned columns defending Louis Farrakhan against accusations of being a racist and an anti-Semite and who promoted black nationalist speakers and has advocated for a separate black state.

That sounds more like a Democrat circle jerk than a listening/education exercise.

Guess What -Inspector General finds more missing Lerner emails

Lois Lerner, Director of Exempt Organizations for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), invokes her fifth amendment right during a House Oversight and Governmental Reform Committee hearing on the IRS and it’s targeting of conservative groups, on Capitol Hill on May 22, 2013 in Washington, D.C. UPI/Kevin Dietsch

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) has disclosed the discovery of a fresh batch of previously-unknown emails tied to former IRS administrator Lois Lerner’s email account.

TIGTA unearthed approximately 6,400 Lerner emails in its ongoing effort to recover Lerner’s allegedly missing computer data. The Inspector General has been collaborating with independent information technology experts to assist in retrieving the data, which Lerner alleged was permanently lost when her computer’s hard drive crashed. Lerner retired from the IRS after the scandal reached a media zenith in 2013.

No criminal charges have ever been filed against IRS officials for the roles they may have played in perpetuating the political discrimination scandal. The House voted to hold Lerner in contempt in May of last year, after she invoked the 5th Amendment and refused to continue testifying.

According to Fox News, roughly 650 of the emails date from 2010 and 2011; the remainder date from 2012.

According to a spokesman for Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), who chairs the Senate Finance Committee, congressional investigators do not yet know what the emails contain. But, he said, the new information will receive the same scrutiny that Lerner’s previously-revealed emails have so far received.

“These emails will be carefully examined as part of the committee’s bipartisan IRS investigation,” Hatch’s spokesman told The Hill. “After TIGTA produces their report regarding the missing data later this year, the Committee hopes to follow suit and move forward with the release of its bipartisan report on this issue.”

Leave it to Democratic politicians to suggest that not only is the record number of people leaving the labor force not a bad thing, but that the continuing loss of jobs and reduction of hours because of their policies is “a great opportunity” to finally kick back and relax.
Not only has the vernacular being thrown around Washington circles changed from talking about people being fired to people being “freed” from a job, but we’re being told that the policies created by the Obama Administration and the Democrat-led Congress are important to American society because they allow parents to come home and “actually be able to cook dinner.”
I don’t know about you, but whenever I’ve felt a burning need to relax and cook dinner, I managed to do it outside of work hours. Apparently, Democrats don’t know how to do that without being fired or having their work hours cut. That’s not a bad idea in the case of Democratic members of Congress, but for most of us, it raises a question about being able to afford the food to cook during all those fancy family meals.
Rep. Keith Ellison, on “This Week With George Stephanopoulos,” defended Obamacare, which according to the Congressional Budget Office is going to eliminate millions of jobs in the next few years, saying, “We are going to have parents being able to come home, working reasonable hours. People are going to be able to retire. People might actually be able to cook dinner rather than have to order out and get some takeout.”
Reality check, Keith: If people are cooking at home more often, it’s not because of the “great opportunity” you’ve given them, it’s because no one can afford fast food, which is already overpriced and is only going to get more expensive when you morons raise the minimum wage.
Of course, Ellison didn’t have this brilliant bit of brain flatulence alone. The entire party is taking its cues from the reptile queen, Mrs. “Unemployment Checks are Stimulus” herself, Nancy Pelosi, who last week said, “What we see is that people are leaving their jobs because they are no longer job-locked. They are following their aspirations to be a writer; to be self-employed; to start a business. This is the entrepreneurial piece. So it’s not going to cost jobs. It’s going to shift how people make a living and reach their aspirations.”
(Take it from a self-employed writer: All you people who populate Pelosi’s fantasy world need to get real jobs, because you’re driving my wages down.)
Multimillionaire Pelosi continued opining on the state of America’s unemployed: “This was one of the goals, to give people life, a healthy life, liberty to pursue their happiness. And that liberty is to not be job-locked, but to follow their passion.”

Straight from the horse’s mouth: One of the goals of Obamacare was to reduce the number of people working so that we could become a nation full of writers.
Ellison also pushed this notion, saying we shouldn’t fret over the lack of jobs due to Obamacare because “if you look at international comparisons country by country, Americans work way more that the average of industrialized countries around the world.”
It’s interesting to note that President Obama, in discussing his plans for usurping Congress’ powers in his recent State of the Union address, brought up a proposal to reorganize federal job training programs. Evidently the White House feels not all of the unemployed are cut out to be self-employed writers.
(In fact, the current government programs, at least in California, have been pushing the long-term unemployed to train as teachers. Now there’s a shortage of available teaching positions. More government planning in action.)
The Democrats’ response to the continuing deterioration of the employment landscape is schizophrenic. It has to be. On the one hand, they’ll boast about the low unemployment percentage (obtain through the magic of statistics), then blame the GOP for the shrinking labor force participation rate. They’ll boast about the couple of dozen people who have successfully signed up and paid for their Obamacare plan, then turn around and claim the millions of job-hours it will cost Americans are a “great opportunity” to have a backyard barbecue.
If the Democratic Party ever started dealing in the plain, unspun truth, its members would probably implode like the Nazgul in “Return of the King.”
The day the president and every Democrat in Congress loses his job — now that will be a day to party.

Wake up, America: Democrats aren’t Democrats Anymore, They’re Communists

by Fred Dardick

So-called “moderate Democrats” are merely socialists
Wake up, America: Democrats aren’t Democrats Anymore, They’re Communists
And the so-called “moderate Democrats” are merely socialists.

It wasn’t so long ago that much loved Democrat President John F. Kennedy told the nation in his inaugural address, “Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country”, implying a sense of self sacrifice was needed by all Americans to keep the torch of freedom burning bright in a world filled with tyranny.

An idea most could relate to regardless of political affiliation.
But times have changed and modern liberal philosophy has become almost unrecognizable to previous generations. It can be more accurately described as: “Forget personal sacrifice, keep sitting on your behind, and let the government rob your neighbor for you.”

Democrat political aims no longer share the fundamental ideals that have served this nation so well for so long. Rather than put their trust in the righteousness of the American individual, their intention is to transfer as much power as possible to the collective, as represented by the federal government.

President Barack Obama outlined his openly communist thinking at a University of Michigan commencement address this past weekend when he said “When our government is spoken of as some menacing, threatening foreign entity, it ignores the fact that in our democracy, government is us.”

What is he talking about?

First off, you have to be out of your mind to not be at least a little skeptical of an entity that can force you from your home, take away your money, incarcerate you, and ship you off to war … all for sometimes less than perfect reasons.

That’s an awful lot of power just begging to be misused by unscrupulous politicians, and a community organizer should know it. I seem to recall Obama having a real big problem with government not so long ago when we invaded Iraq.

Our founding fathers were right to be fearful of centralized government. They knew from their experiences with the kings of Europe that a small number of people with unchecked power could not be trusted. It wasn’t necessarily unheard of for the ruling class to turn on the common folk and start nailing people to trees.

Obama’s statement “government is us” is likewise absurd.

Government isn’t we the people … I know it sure isn’t me. There’s a whole lot of what the government is up to that doesn’t exactly meet with my approval and I highly doubt Democrats will be contacting me anytime soon for my input.

Obama’s much beloved “government is us” is a collection of few elected officials and a whole lot of overly paid unionized bureaucrats, most of whom willing to do almost anything to keep their jobs.

It’s a representative government and it tends to work best when people of character inhabit the halls of power. Unfortunately it also leaves a lot of room for unethical politicians to stick it to the nation.

Take the healthcare bill for instance. Never has been a more egregious example of political corruption than that obscenity: abuse of power, against the people’s wishes, dire economic consequences for the country … ObamaCare has it all.

Karl Marx himself would be proud.

In the old way of doing things, the House and Senate would pass their bills. Both versions would go to committee where differences were hashed out. Then back to the House and Senate for a final vote.

Pretty standard stuff that has served the nation well for the past couple hundred years … then something happened in January 2010.

Scott Brown, a Republican, was elected to Edward Kennedy’s old Senate seat, and just like that the Democrats no longer had the votes needed to pass their freedom-killing legislation.

That should have been the end of the story, but Democrat politicians, like the communists of old, aren’t so concerned about the rules. As long as the state grows stronger and the individual grows weaker, they don’t much care how it gets done.

So they dug up a procedure called reconciliation and used it in a way that had never been intended, producing a bill that no one understood, or studied, or even had time to read before voting on it.

Obama signed the bill into law and so long democracy … ObamaCare is passed.

Only one month later and the Johnny Come Lately media is filled with reports about Medicare provisions that are “unsustainable” and economic provisions that are “unsustainable”.

Pretty much everything about the bill, including the medical profession as a whole, is “unsustainable”, and yet that piece of liberal fantasy is now law of the land.

White House Budget Director Peter Orszag explained the true purpose of ObamaCare when he said the “Independent Payment Advisory Board has the power and the responsibility to put forward proposals to hit a pretty aggressive set of targets over the long term, and furthermore, the proposals take effect automatically.”

First of all, government proposals that take effect automatically aren’t proposals, they’re laws.

And secondly, what Orszag really means is that a group of unelected bureaucrats in Washington will be given total control of our multi-trillion dollar healthcare system. You can forget about decisions being just between you and you doctor … whatever these people decide will be the last word in American healthcare. Period.

Obama somehow neglected to mention this particular aspect of the legislation during his 100 or so healthcare related speeches and press conferences. But then again, diehard communists never tell you the full story, they only tell you what you want to hear.

And if you’re not buying their nonsense, then you can stuff it because you’re a racist.

Lacking the votes to get any additional power grabs past the Senate, Democrat politicians are now pursuing even worse unconstitutional methods to force their state-first agenda upon the nation.

Rather than pursue Cap and Trade legislation, EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson has declared that CO2 is a greenhouse gas and will start unilaterally imposing limits on static source emitters (power plants, factories, homes, etc…) starting in Jan 2010.

Obama appointee Craig Becker, also known as the Walking Card Check, was named to the National Labor Relations Board and given free reign to steal influence away from employers and hand it over to the unions.

The FCC is pursuing a takeover of the internet with their net neutrality regulations.

All without a single vote in Congress.

Each and every Democrat political priority can be broken down to a simple concept: they are all designed to take money and power away from individuals, families, communities, businesses, charities, and states and transfer it directly to the federal government.

Centralized government control of vital national resources, which pretty much means everything when you break it all down, is practically the definition of communism.

For those who would parse words and say that Obama and his Democrat cohorts are socialist, let me remind you, the Soviet Union was a constitutionally socialist nation, and look what happened to them.

The only difference between socialism and communism … is time.

In a surprise move, the CPUSA (Communist Party USA) has announced a lawsuit against the Democratic Party and its leadership for the alleged theft of intellectual property. The plaintiffs claim that the entire so-called “new” Democratic agenda is, in fact, the product of a decades-long, painstaking campaign by CPUSA theorists, agitators, and underground subversive cells – which makes it the intellectual property of the Communist Party USA, protected by American copyright laws. “They stole our entire platform, rebranded it ‘progressive’, and claimed it as their own,” declared a CPUSA spokesperson at a press conference in San Francisco. “And we communists say, not so fast! Not in this country anyway, where we still have property rights and the rule of law, thank God! Actually, let me rephrase that…”

The Communist Party representative explained that government ownership of the auto and financial industries, redistribution of wealth, and free rationed healthcare have always been among the glorious CPUSA objectives: “We held on to these goals through all the difficult years of factional infighting, purges, denunciations, and heroic espionage on behalf of the Soviet intelligence services.
“This may seem like a foreign idea to you, but we sacrificed everything for it – our friends, our neighbors, and our nation. We suffered from all kinds of ulcers and split personality disorders by blindly following Stalin’s directives. We risked our chances of promotion within US government agencies by dutifully advancing Soviet foreign policy. And for what? So that some spoiled Democrats could ride on our backs to power while throwing us crumbs in the form of minor cabinet appointments?

“It’s just like taking someone else’s hard-earned income and redistributing it! … Never mind, bad example… It’s like infiltrating a respectable organization and taking over its management while engaging in subversive propaganda and the rewriting of history… Whoops, bad example again… It’s like being devoid of moral standards and rejecting all the norms and values of Judeo-Christian civilization… No, that was totally inappropriate. Scratch that…

“It’s time we got our fair share of credit from the current administration. As a gesture of good will, we would be pleased to accept the credit in the form of stimulus checks, subsidies, and loan guarantees for our members. If not now, when?”

CPUSA lawyers presented documents to the press showing that the Democratic platform of 2010, almost-line-for-line, reiterates the CPUSA platform of 1963. As the lead attorney for the plaintiffs pointed out, even a casual reading shows that while the rhetoric occasionally varies, the underlying policies are nearly identical.

“If the public knew that all the Democrat ideas are ours, we’d have more high-paying jobs in the Obama administration,” remarked the CPUSA spokesperson. “While all our members can’t be czars, we should at least get royalties. We can’t survive on government handouts alone, not yet anyway.”

This announcement seems to overturn past communist policy favoring the liquidation of czars and royalty.

The Democratic National Committee has declined to issue an official comment on the lawsuit, but a high-ranking White House official stated privately that this development is the result of an historically inevitable “convergence of opposites” – a philosophical concept outlined by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels – whereby the American public catches up with the glorious promise of communism, while the CPUSA becomes so American that it becomes embroiled in litigation. “Don’t quote me on this,” he added, “but Barack and I believe we can easily reconcile whatever minor differences we have with the CPUSA, and work together to prepare Americans for the final march, in well-organized and neat columns, towards our radiant progressive future.”

The NEW Democratic Symbol no more donkey.

Einstein once said,
‘The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again
and expecting different results.’ It is the poor who habitually elect Democrats ….
yet they are still POOR.

“You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up
by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage
by taking away people’s initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them,
what they could and should do for themselves.”
