Our Immigration System Is Not Broken

Why is it that when African Americans whose families have been in this country for hundreds of years commit crimes they go to jail and when illegal immigrants commit crimes they get released?

In Los Angeles, 95 percent of all outstanding warrants for homicide target illegal aliens, as do approximately two-thirds of all fugitive felony warrants.

More than 60 percent of the Hispanic gangs in Southern California—whose membership is in the tens of thousands—is illegal. These gangs involved with drug-distribution schemes, extortion, drive-by assassinations, assaults, and robberies.

According to the analysis conducted by the Texas Department of Public Safety, foreign aliens committed 611,234 unique crimes in Texas from 2008 to 2014, including thousands of homicides and sexual assaults.

According to Infowars.com:

Illegal immigrants take jobs away from American citizens. According to a review of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and Census Bureau data, legal and illegal immigrants gained over a million additional jobs between 2008 and 2010 even as millions of American citizens were losing their jobs during that same time period.

The majority of our immigrants now sneak in through the “back door” that the federal government purposely leaves open.  Thanks to the negligence of the federal government, far more people move into the United States illegally than come in through the legal immigration process.

Illegal immigrants generally don’t pay taxes.  The vast majority of illegal aliens would never even dream of paying income taxes, but Mexicans living in America send billions upon billions of dollars out of the United States and back to Mexico every single year.

Although illegal aliens pay next to nothing in taxes, they have no problem receiving tens of billions of dollars worth of free education benefits, free health care benefits, free housing assistance and free food stamp benefits.  Many communities in the United States now openly advertise that they will help illegal aliens with these things.

The cost of educating the children of illegal immigrants is staggering. It is estimated that U.S. taxpayers spend $12,000,000,000 a year on primary and secondary school education for the children of illegal immigrants.

It was estimated that there were approximately 7.7 million illegal aliens employed by U.S. employers during 2008.  How much better would our economy look if all of those jobs were being filled by American workers?

The region along the U.S./Mexico border is now an open war zone. Just across the U.S. border, the city of Juarez, Mexico is considered to be one of the most dangerous cities on the entire planet because of the brutal drug war being waged there. In fact, Juarez has now become the murder capital of the western hemisphere.  Much of that violence has begun to spill over into areas of the southwestern United States.

A substantial percentage of young illegal immigrants end up in gangs.  U.S. authorities say that there are now over 1 million members of criminal gangs operating inside the United States. According to federal statistics, these 1 million gang members are responsible for up to 80% of the violent crimes committed in the U.S. each year.  Latino gangs made up primarily of illegal aliens are responsible for much of this violence.

Each year, it costs the states billions of dollars to incarcerate illegal immigrant criminals that should have never been allowed into the country in the first place. It is estimated that illegal aliens make up approximately 30 percent of the population in federal, state and local prisons and that the total cost of incarcerating them is more than $1.6 billion annually.

If these aren’t problems that need to be addressed we have no problems, everything is coming up roses, the economy is roaring along and our fundamentally transformed America and its New Normal is the Utopia we were promised when so many of our low information voters hoped for change.

In 2007 I ran for the Virginia State Senate on a platform of taking back control from Washington.  Believing that the States should take a more active role in guiding the central government part of that platform was a list of recommendations I wanted the State of Virginia to send to the Federal Government.  One of those recommendations dealt with immigration.

Here are my recommendations from 2007, which I still recommend today:

  1. Secure our borders.  We can and have secured the borders of Korea in mountainous terrain why can’t we secure our own border across a desert.
  2. Post Army troops at our borders with enough manpower and with rules of engagement that will allow them to patrol and secure the borders.
  3. Build a wall.  The Great Wall of China can be seen from space.  America’s current wall can only be seen in the imagination and the campaign promises of politicians.
  4. Enforce all laws against hiring illegal immigrants.  Make the fines for violation confiscatory.  Penalize second offenses with jail time.
  5. Cut off welfare and all other government support for illegal immigrants.
  6. Return to the pre 1982 interpretation of the 14th Amendment and stop/revers the anchor baby madness.
  7. Repeal the Kennedy Immigration Bill of 1965 (The Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1965).
  8. Have a 10 year moratorium on immigration so that all who have come in the last 25 years can assimilate and become Americans in language and customs.

There is no need to round up the 11 to 20 million illegals who have invaded our home.  No one rounded them up to bring them here.  We are constantly told they are only here to get better jobs.  Cut off the jobs and they should leave on their own accord.  They brought themselves here they can get themselves home.

This is what I proposed in 2007.  If we had done these things then we wouldn’t have an immigration crisis now.

Much of this such as securing the border, building a wall, penalties for hiring illegals, and limits on welfare are already on the books.  They were parts of earlier amnesties, the part that was never implemented.  They got the amnesty and we got the brush off.

Our immigration system isn’t broken. Our immigration enforcement system is broken, because our central government is broken.  We have been lied to and deceived by both parties.  One side wants more votes and the other side wants cheap labor, and the citizens of this country get the shaft from both directions.

The new book from Anne Coulter, Adios America, presents all the same solutions and provides the research and intellectual support for which Ms. Coulter is rightfully famous.  Hopefully the presentation of these ideas by a bestselling author will bring them to the attention of a much wider audience than I have been able to muster over the last eight years.  That combined with the meteroric rise of Donald Trump as a political phenome whose opening gambit was immigration will spark a real debate.  Not just a debate between the Democrat Progressives and the Republican Progressives about how they can best allow the invasion to continue while pretending to confront the issue, but a debate about what it means to be a country and what kind of a country we want to be.

Immigration is THE issue for 2016.  If we do not stop the migration invasion and if it continues for another presidential term or two the next issue might be whether or not we change the name of our country to Estados Unidos.  Or we are going to continue to pretend we are who we used to be and not what the triumphant Progressives are transforming us into: a third world hell hole that used to be the United States.

Our immigration system isn’t broken. The will of our leaders to enforce an immigration policy has been broken and without the will to maintain our integrity as a nation we will soon become nothing more than the Balkans writ large: a powder keg waiting for a match.

When it comes to immigration if not now when, if not us who, and if not the United States of America what?

Or as Ronald Reagan said, “A nation that cannot control its borders is not a nation.”

Good Bye America It Was Good to Know You

Check and Mate

According to Zach Taylor an outspoken former Tucson Sector Border Patrol agent who is the chairman of the National Association of Former Border Patrol Officers, “As the government allocates resources to South Texas, it is systematically leaving areas within the U.S., as well as vast swaths of land along the border, unguarded.”  Taylor continues, “This gives people that are trying to get their infrastructure, their personnel, their drugs, their dirty bombs, their biological weapons, their chemical weapons into the United States without being noticed” the opportunity to do so, “because this part of the border is open, it is not being controlled.”

Taylor also said, “If asymmetrical warfare is going to be successful, the first thing that has to be done is to compromise America’s defenses against invasion because they have to have their personnel inside the United States to affect the infrastructure… they have to affect the degeneration from inside the United States.”

By constantly focusing on the 10% that is apprehended, and by consistently referring to the 1%who are immigrant minors, the government and their media fellow-travelers draw the attention of most Americans away from the hundreds of thousands who evade capture.  No one knows how many of these people are gang members.  It is known that in Central America children as young as ten join these gangs and that the initiation for many is committing murder.  These are the poor but not innocent children who may be in a classroom with your own sons and daughters come September.

According to a June press release Taylor elaborated, “This is not a humanitarian crisis.  It is a predictable, orchestrated and contrived assault on the compassionate side of Americans by her political leaders that knowingly puts minor Illegal Alien children at risk for purely political purposes. Certainly, we are not gullible enough to believe that thousands of unaccompanied minor Central American children came to America without the encouragement, aid and assistance of the United States Government.”

Former Agent Taylor asked this pregnant question, “Will this heartless criminal exploitation of Central American infants and children finally awaken Americans to the ruse being foisted upon them by their government, the media and other interested parties, or has America lost her ability to stand up against the tyrants and do what is right rather than what is easy?”

Perhaps the most chilling thing Taylor had to say was, “It is a perfect military strategy. It doesn’t raise any eyebrows because we’re focused on the children, but we need to focus on our children, because this is asymmetrical warfare. Everything says it is. And the way the United States government is responding to it is concealing that fact from the American people.  In other words they’re assisting in the downfall of America, and you need to understand that.”

What is the real scope of this invasion?  According to Dan Patrick a Texas State Senator, “Every week, week after week, we’ve been averaging for the last year apprehending between six and ten thousand people a week.  If we apprehend eight or nine thousand a week, that’s more people than are born in Texas each week.” The Senator continued, “Now, we think we catch one out of every five. That means twenty five or thirty thousand are crossing the border, that we don’t catch.  Don’t focus on the numbers that are apprehended, that’s the ones we catch.”

Ronald Colburn, former national deputy chief of the U.S. Border Patrol says, “According to my sources, it appears that this administration is causing that [bottleneck] on purpose. So they [the Obama administration] may be saying they’re trying to resolve it, but they’re doing something different. They need to put their actions where their mouths are.”

According to a Pew Research study, “Even though the growth is higher among younger children, the bulk of unaccompanied children caught at the border remain teenagers. In fiscal year 2013, nine-in-ten minors apprehended at the border were teens. This share has dropped as the number of younger children making the dangerous trip has risen dramatically: In the first eight months of fiscal year 2014, 84% were teens.”

We are told every day all day by the Corporations Once Known as the Mainstream Media and the cable clones that this is an emergency.  Or as they say it, “THIS IS AN EMERGENCY!!”  Yet according to the Congressional Budget Office only $25 million out of the $4.3 billion request will be spent this year.  The CBO score conflicts with the argument of Democrats and Obama administration officials, that the money is urgently needed for border activities.  We are portrayed as heartless, as merely wanting to protect our own privilege while consigning the children to lives of hopeless poverty.  However the fact is that according to SenatorJeff Sessions (R-Ala.) the Senate Budget Committee’s ranking member, “Between 2000 and 2013, we lawfully issued almost 30 million work and immigrant visas. To put that number in perspective, 30 million is about the population of El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala combined.”

I believe it is time that those of us who believe in a traditional America and its values of limited government, personal liberty and economic freedom are honest with ourselves.  For the past 100 years when you compare the long game of the Progressives with the rest of us; we have been playing checkers and they have been playing chess.  Not only have they kept their end goals always in view through victory and defeat they have successfully captured education and media programming generations of people to if not think like them to at least accept the soundness of their premise: government can be all things to all people.  In this game of chess that we never realized we were playing, the current invasion, plotted and planned well in advance, may well be check and checkmate.  How can we ever recover from an influx of millions of new progressive supporters and voters shipped around the country to the districts needed to sway elections?  How are we ever going to come back from this?

Abraham Lincoln told us, “America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”

Europe committed suicide in two fratricidal world wars.  We have allowed hubris abroad and greed at home to lead us down the same path.  By establishing a world-girdling empire of nation building money pits and a centrally planned redistributionist attempt at utopia at home we have stifled freedom and killed the golden goose.  Now the preplanned crisis in the south is delivering the plurality of low information voters to seal the deal.

Finally a plan by the Obama Administration to save the children from the train of death, pick them up in their home countries and fly the directly to the districts where democratic voters are most needed. As far as political theater this comes under the “You’ve got to be kidding me” category. And as a bonus once the children are here we will need to bring their parents along to help preserve the family. And now the undocumented democrats are demanding representation at any White House meetings designed to determine their fate. They plan to protest in front of the White House until their demands are met with no fear of arrest. Has Monty Python taken over this country? How can living in the shadows include public demonstrations and representation in the government?

We cry about the people who have broken all the rules of our checker game while they move our pawns to the welfare line, our knights to the unemployment line, our rooks our bishops and our queen to the sidelines, and our king to the deadline.  Check and mate.

You Say You Want a Revolution

Our revolution changed the world.  Our Declaration of Independence proclaims self-evident truths.  That all men are created equal, they’re endowed by their Creator with unalienable rights, among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  These words shook a world held in the vise-grip of hereditary privilege inspiring people around the globe.  Our Constitution established a representative republic with a limited government of the people, by the people and for the people.

We’ve watched as our constitutionally limited government grew until today it’s a leviathan running amok like Godzilla in Tokyo smashing things and scaring boy scouts.  Today the Federal government is the largest employer in America, states are the largest employers in the states and counties are among the largest employers in the counties get the picture?  Government is on a rampage and unless Mothra is going to fly in to save the day we’ll have to deal with Frankenstein-on-the-Potomac ourselves.

Such brazen power-plays as the Executive branch issuing the Legislature an ultimatum, either pass Cap-N-Trade or we’ll impose it administratively through command-and-control make the dramatic changes in our political culture shockingly apparent.   Has our balance of powers melted away under the glare of executive orders, signing statements and now ultimatums?   Some people say this is evolution.  To others it’s devolution.  Our hard-won and dearly-paid-for Republic is devolving into a command-and-control all-encompassing central-state.

With political dynasties bequeathing congressional seats like hereditary fiefdoms it’s becoming hard to explain why we left the British Empire.  Today we not only have taxation without representation as congressional party-line voters ignore their constituents we also have representation without taxation as the perpetually re-elected Lords and Ladies represent the illegal immigrants and the professional welfare hammock-riders.

These big government social planners may believe they’ve achieved their community organizing goals fulfilling Historian Will Durant paraphrase of Lincoln’s famous quote, “It may be true that you can’t fool all the people all the time, but you can fool enough of them to rule a large country.”  They may believe their revolutionary administration will fundamentally change America however, if they’d step 20 miles outside the Beltway obviously there’s a counter-revolution brewing.  The Tea Party is overtaking the Republican Party in popularity.  It has already supplanted them at the grassroots of the conservative movement.  By 2010 an avalanche of voters thronged the polling places demanding their country back.

Following the tactics of Saul Alinsky brought the ObamaAcornSEIU coalition control of the Democratic Party and the country but following the Cloward/Piven Strategy for overwhelming the system to impose an alternative system is going to lead to a complete repudiation of this radical departure from traditional American politics and economics.  We aren’t Venezuela.  Even after decades of legislative efforts to progressively create a permanent underclass of government dependents who’ll follow the leader to the next looting of productive members of society the majority in this country still want freedom and opportunity not cradle-to-grave mediocrity.

We can and should stage a counter-revolution against this growing tyranny.  A peaceful, lawful revolution at the ballot box and if you’re talking about destruction, you can count me out.  The last thing we need in this crowded theater full of combustible emotions is either a match or someone shouting fire.  Any incident right now would trigger a massive response.  Just as the executive is using the EPA to impose the onerous restrictions of a Cap-N-Trade style economy stunting strangulation of regulations he’s also using ICE to change the enforcement of immigration policy and cook the books without any messy debate.

Ruling by decree, “I have a pen and I have a phone,” is hardly compatible with constitutionally-limited government.  We’re told the administration has solutions.  They sold us a solution to heal the greatest health care system in the world “If you like your plan you can keep your plan. Period” lik e a pig-in-a-poke.  They claim to have a solution to save or create jobs while we lose jobs every month, a draconian solution for the man-made global warming hoax, a solution for endless wars for elusive peace.  You say you have a solution.  We’d all love to see the plan.

They say they want a contribution.  Back in the good old change we could believe in days the dialogue of class warfare repeated that no one making under 250,000, or was it 150,000, or was it …anyway only the evil rich would have to pay a dime of new taxes.  Watch out!  You might find out you’re rich come next April 15th.

Everyone has known since at least that tax-cutting wild man JFK that cutting taxes increases revenue to the government and raising them lowers revenue.  Since the government knows raising taxes lowers revenue and since they’re raising taxes to increase revenue what are they trying to do?  Complicated tax codes are used as a way to incentivize and de-incentivize behavior.

If you want more widgets give tax breaks for buying widgets.  If you want less widgets tax widgets.  Using that for a guide notice what’s being pushed and what’s being pulled?  Taxes on producers and tax breaks for non-producers imagine tax cuts for people who don’t pay taxes and tax increases for those who do.  Taking the money of producers to bailout the greedy, reward the cronies and support the lazy.  It’s time to tell the statists at the ballot box if they want money for things we hate they’re going to have to wait.

Executive orders and signing statements have been used in Republican and Democrat administrations for years to change the constitution without changing the Constitution.  Now sweeping new powers by regulators threatens to make Congress irrelevant as an all-powerful executive branch grows like a malignant tumor.  Don’t lose heart, don’t despair, don’t you know it’s going to be all right?  Keep the faith, keep the peace, organize and win the day.  We shall overcome.
