On Monday, the Miami-Herald reported that Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has just extended Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to about 60,000 Haitian nationals living in the United States.

Announcement of the extension is expected to be published in the Federal Register this week, and will take effect on Jan. 22, 2013.

The Obama administration originally issued the TPS for Haitian illegal aliens in January 2010, following that country’s devastating earthquake. The status also allows them to work in this country legally.

While the measure was been seen by many as an act of American hospitality, it has also made the possibility of ever deporting the illegal aliens, many of whom are convicted criminals residing in federal detention centers, rather unlikely.

The federal government actually has a history making the “temporary” status permanent.

Honduran and Nicaraguan nationals received the protected status in 1999, after Hurricane Mitch hit their countries. Salvadoran nationals were also granted the same protection from deportation, after an earthquake hit El Salvador in 2001.

Despite the time which has passed since both disasters, their legal status in this country remains in place.

In fact, in January 2012, the Obama administration issued yet another extension of the TPS, originally granted to 217,000 illegal aliens from El Salvador.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, due to the earthquakes in 2001, “El Salvador remains unable, temporarily, to handle adequately the return of its nationals.”

Somali and Sudanese nationals also enjoy the special status. Of course, it has recently come to light that many Somalis who were allowed to immigrate to this country have become radicalized Muslim terrorists.

One Haitian whose deportation was stayed by Obama was Kesler Dufrene, a twice-convicted felon and illegal alien who murdered three people, including a 15-year-old girl last year.

Though an immigration judge ordered that Dufrene be deported when he got out of prison for burglary in October 2010, but due to the TPS, immigration authorities in Miami had no choice but to release the illegal alien back onto the streets.

On January 2, 2011, Dufrene shot three people to death, according to North Miami police.

However, the Haitian national was never be brought to justice. Nearly three weeks later, he shot himself while surrounded by Manatee County sheriff’s deputies, who came looking for him following another break-in and shooting.

DNA evidence later linked Dufrene to the murders.

Campaign suggests giving up wedding, anniversary gifts too

Getting married? Does Barack Obama ever have an idea for you!

How about telling your family, friends and guests that they should make a donation to Obama’s 2012 campaign instead of getting you a gift?

Also for anniversaries.

At the campaign’s “Obama event registry” page, fundraisers say:

“Got a birthday, anniversary, or wedding coming up?

“Let your friends know how important this election is to you – register with Obama 2012, and ask for a donation in lieu of a gift. It’s a great way to support the President on your big day. Plus, it’s a gift that we can all appreciate – and goes a lot further than a gravy bowl.

“Setting up and sharing your registry page is easy – so get started today.”

Further instructions say: “Register your next celebration – whether it’s a birthday, bar or bat mitzvah, wedding, or anniversary – with the Obama campaign. It’s a great way to show your support for a cause that’s important to you on your big day.”

The AP noted just days ago that Obama’s cash-collecting, which set all sorts of records during the 2008 campaign, was faltering this year.

The report said Mitt Romney raised more donations in May than Obama, by a margin of $76 million to $60 million.

It was the first time the Republican presidential challenger has jumped ahead of Obama and his fundraising efforts.

Just a few months ago, the Obama campaign also tried to cash in on the ongoing controversy over whether he qualifies under the Constitution to be president.

Less than 24 hours after Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio held a news conference to announce that his investigators found probable cause that the Obama birth certificate image released last year is a forgery, an email seeking donations was dispatched by Julianna Smoot, Obama’s deputy campaign manager.

“Yesterday, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his ‘Cold Case Posse’ (their words, not mine) held a press conference to announce that after an exhaustive, six-month investigation, they’ve concluded the president’s birth certificate is – wait for it – a fraud,” she wrote.

Here’s the new Obama fundraising scheme:

“Lest you think this is just some isolated conspiracy theorist, keep in mind this is a guy Mitt Romney has personally called to ask for an endorsement – and who served as a Romney campaign ‘Honorary Chair’ in 2008,” she wrote.

“Well, Sheriff Arpaio, the birth certificate is real, and it’s right here.”

Following the statement was a link to an Obama store selling mugs with an image of Obama on one side and an image of the document Obama released last year on the other.

Not cheap, though. Try $20 for a mug.

“I doubt a coffee mug – or anything else – will convince Sheriff Arpaio or the other birthers. Some things just might not be humanly possible,” Smoot wrote. “Either way, it shouldn’t stop the rest of us from having a good laugh.”

The email did not respond to any of the challenges to the president to provide his documentation or the evidence uncovered by professional law enforcement officers, who began the review at the request of hundreds of Arpaio’s constituents.

The citizens were concerned a fraudulent document was being used by Obama to qualify for the 2012 election ballot in Arizona. Arpaio promised that the investigation will continue into the alleged crimes of forgery and fraud.
The team also concluded that Obama’s Selective Service card most likely is a forgery, and there is a suspicion that Obama’s birth may have been outside of the United States.

The controversy is over the Constitution’s requirement that the president be a “natural-born citizen” and the fact that evidence regarding Obama’s status remains unavailable or unverified.

“To quell the popular idea that Obama was actually born outside the United States, we examined the records of Immigration and Naturalization Service cards routinely filled out by airplane passengers arriving on international flights that originated outside the United States in the month of August 1961 [Obama's birth month].,” the sheriff’s report said. “Those records are housed at the National Archives in Washington, D.C. Interestingly, records from the days surrounding Obama’s birth, August 1, 1961 to August 7, 1961 are missing. This is the only week in 1961 were these immigration cards cannot be found.”

The investigative team also accused the Hawaii Department of Health of having engaged in “a systematic effort to hide any original 1961 birth records that they may have in their possession.” And the team determined newspaper announcements of Obama’s birth there in 1961 are not proof, because the published listings also included 3-year-olds cited as newborns as well as children born outside of the state.

“A continuing investigation is needed to not only understand more about the creation of the alleged birth certificate forgery, but also to determine who, if anyone, in the White House or the state of Hawaii may have authorized it,” Arpaio said.

“The $5,027,761,476,484.56 in additional debt that the Obama regime has taken on during the 39 months that Obama has been president is more debt than the federal government accumulated in the first 219 years of the REPUBLIC.”

Any yet, “among all non-white voters . . . Obama leads over Romney among them by 71 percent to 23 percent in the CNN poll; 74 percent to 20 percent in the ABC/Post survey; 77 percent to 17 percent in the new Gallup track; and 78 percent to 17 percent in the new Pew survey.”

This can ONLY be explained by the truth that Blacks and Hispanics by a margin greater than three to one over Caucasians favor government entitlements — transfers of wealth from wealth creators to wealth consumers — from womb to tomb, assuming they make it out of the womb due to their overwhelming support for filicide, and don’t care about the huge burden the debt and its repayment (with Interest Only payments on schedule to hit $1,000,000,000,000 annually on or about 2023) will place on their OWN PROGENY. In short, they do NOT know how to delay gratification and care more about themselves than their own children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, etc. Their profligacy and selfishness propels America in a downward spiral toward fiscal, moral, and social collapse!

Unless and until Blacks and Hispanics repent of the hateful class, color, and even gender rhetoric of their Progressive leaders, and begin listening to and following great leaders of color such as Senator Marco Rubio, Rep. Lt. Col. Allen West, Drs. Bill Cosby, Thomas Sowell, Walter E. Williams, Alveda King (Dr. MLK, Jr.’s niece) and Alan Keyes, in addition to Star Parker, Deneen Borelli (she has a new book out – you may wish to check it out), Herman Cain, Larry Elder, Rep. Tim Scott, J.C. Watts, the Honorable Ken Blackwell, Shelby Steele, Angela McGlowan, Lloyd Marcus, Michael Steele, and Justice Clarence Thomas, et al, they will continue to vote America into fiscal, moral and social ruination in favor of Welfare, Food Stamps, indefinite Unemployment Benefits, subsidized housing, CHIPs, Medicaid, and behemoth deficits and debt.
